Is that what living in Guernsey does to you that you resort to self flajulation. **** it must be a tough spot.

It looks like Nowich are going to go up to the Championship this year so he may look to build his reputation down there for a while.

Fox was sold to raise money for signings elsewhere.

I agreed with Mowbray on getting rid of the **** Strachan left us with.........just not sure his replacements are much better.

He had £6m to spend in the summer, he bought Fourtune £4m & Fox £1.5m. He obviously identified our weak points, but he put too much pressure on Fortune to perform with that much spent on him & then did a u turn on the leftback position by announcing Naylor, O'Dea etc can play there.

He ruled out loan signings saying he only wants players who will be at the club for the next 4 years.....Kamara? This leftback?

We didn't buy Fletcher or McCarthy because he wanted players to fill immediate spots in the team such as Fortune and Fox. That pissed me right off.

But then the club turns around and buys the likes of Slane and Rogne. There does not seem to be any consistency in the approach.

Although I think that the club bigwigs are buying all these 'starlets' i.e. mizuno, hutchinson, misun, thompson etc. as opposed to Mowbray as it fits their business plan (i.e. buy em cheap and sell em for a profit)

Fletchers on 10 goals for Burnley, equivalent of about 15+ SPL goals, and imagine how many more with the chances we've created this season <yikes>

Has McCarthy played much for Wigan?

mr G - I think your right. The club ie scouting system up to Lawwell pick alot of the youngsters up for cheap. Lawwell would probably give them certain critera - Asian players, Scottish youth, Irish youth to fit the whole spectrum & its up to Park & his team to scout the best ones at a reasonable price.

First team players to play week in week out for now are Mowbrays job.

Whilst I can see where the club is coiming from, I don't believe in the long run that this strategy is going to be good for celtic, because if your spending on average 75,000 to 100,000 per player on 6 or 8 players a year, that adds up to a fair lump of money that could either be invested in the youth team (i.e. developing players that we already have such as Ferry, Caddis and the likes) or the first team (improved terms for our top perfomers).

We don't even has a reserve league anymore to see if these so called starlets are any good. I know the likes of Misun has a long term injury but where the fook are the likes of Mizuno at the minute?

Mizuno was in the squad last week. Don't think he suits the SPL at all from the little I've seen of him, he also has Maloney, McGeady, McGinn, McCourt ahead of him not to mention Brown, Dave & one or two others who may well be infront of him to play out wide.

He should be loaned out to get first team football in the SPL or Championship, give him blackpool for 6 months <ok>

As for the transfer policy......in all honesty I think its a bit of lazy scouting. We got Boruc who did great, Magic was good for the first 12/18 months & we suddenly bid for every eastern european player.......now we've gone Scandanavian mad <laugh>

Naka did well & made some cash in the east, so we got Mizuno, Dave & I imagine we'll get a few more.

I refuse to talk about the youth setup, see my article somewhere below. I'm raging enough as it is without getting in to the sham of the youth players again <grr>

Tom O'Neil has obviously had a wee trip to the region recently.

I wrote on SPN that Scandanavians and Danes have usually settled well in in the SPL and some gone on to superstar status then a few weeks later we have bus load of them. I think Tony accualy values my opinion and religiously check what I put on here.

So stop having a go at Tony and pick on me!
