He is a good striker who has always been a thorn in our side whenever we have played Sunderland and i would not mind him joining. The way things are shaping up looks as if we will play 2 strikers up front more times than i first thought....

Well this is proof that gomis has not decided one way or another if monk has earmarked Adebayor......Why do players sign contacts if they can do what they want ? It makes a mockery of it and gives players more power because you can bet your life the club wont have any get out clause....

The only thing we know for sure is that an attempt has been made to prize Gomis away from us. We know this as true because we have verifiable quotes, from Monk in particular.

I would have liked to have read a quote from Gomis to allay our fears but there you go, here is the kink journos can now exploit.

Re: Fletcher, the reports I've read only say we've scouted him. Probably true, we've scouted hundreds of players, probably Fletcher is one. The rest of the info in these articles can be gleaned from the player profile from Fifa 2015. They simply recite value stats and offer opinions with no quotes to underpin the validity of the storys being fabricated.

Re: Adeybeyor. This story is ridiculous isn't it? Some journo read about interest in Gomis, takes out his/her note book and starts scribbling. Swansea and Tottenham have history so link: the Adeybeyor story is developed. Swansea have a history with Everton so link: a new Everton want Ash story is developed. Gomis a striker in the news so link: Swansea with any other striker, in this case Fletcher.

The only thing I'm truly surprised about is that there have been no reports telling us that Charlie Austin has been spotted eating Rissoles in Rossi's.

Watch this space there will no doubt be more striker 'revelations' next week.

As a SAFC supporter, I say Fletcher on his day is excellent but other days not at it like most of our strikers, he will get more goals for you though as you attack better than us.

You hinting at something we don't know about? If not, don't answer my question ;)

He'd be a great signing.

The whole point of a contract is to have a release clause that other clubs can bid on the player, if they stay until the last day of the contract then they walk for free under the Bosnan clause

Nah, no hints Valley, but he'd be a good signing wouldn't he?.

Problem is he's on a six figures a week salary, I think, or not far off it, so that takes him way way out of our price range.

I'm still gonna steak out Rossi's though, just in case

"Steven Fletcher looks set to leave Sunderland this summer, though reports claiming Swansea have made a bid for the striker appear to be wide of the mark, according to The Chronicle.
The Scottish centre-forward was linked with a £4 million move to the Welsh side over the weekend, but while those reports appear to be premature, the Black Cats are ready to cash in on the striker who has 12 months left on his contract.............................
.....................It is understood that Swansea will only table a bid for Fletcher if Bafetimbi Gomis leaves the Liberty Stadium this summer, an unlikely circumstance"
