Yep, that's me too. Not just 'that's goal but not a great role model post footie either. Classic case of consumate skill but flawed character. RIP.
Sad to hear of his passing but I agree about the "Hand of God" goal. Was a fantastic player but unfortunately he know it
Impossible now with VAR but if Harry Kane won us the World Cup that way he’d be a hero forever. **** referee/lino and **** goalkeeping. A phenomenal player and for much of it he was completely off his nut.
A very objective obituary of the “flawed genius”: Diego Maradona: Obituary - Argentina's flawed football icon https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/44627510
Genius is so often characterised and countered by human flaws. He wasn’t my favourite person/football player... but he was an amazing footballer of his time. Lost count of other professionals who talk of his almost single-handed achievements at Napoli, of his play while Gentile fouled him 23 times to try and stop him without even a booking. RIP
Diego Maradona “ Watching Messi play football is better than sex. It’s a shame he has no personality.”
Sad news. As others have said...watching him at his best, running with the ball and beating players with ease, is a joy to see...but all that is tainted by 'that goal' and for me, the image of him post-football, which was just sad to see.
