I certainly wouldn't judge Costa on last nights performance. Who in their right mind would want to play in front of that kind of football? Side, side, back, side, four yards forward, back, back, side, side - I'd be tearing my hair out from the roots. The lad ran tirelessly across that line (about a 1000 times) and the service he received (or rather didn't) was pathetic. Spain are out of the world cup for a reason and that reason isn't Diego Costa. Whether he's the answer to our problem remains to be seen. Personally, I'm not a fan simply because of his temperament which scares the bejusus out of me. That said, IF he pulls on the blue of Chelsea I'll back him 100%.
OK gasket repaired. I dont mean to sound negative, just realistic, but others seem to be gung ho for any and everything the Club does. Thats worse in my opinion ,than having only reasonable expectations . I know Costa is injured, I know his record is great, but still he's looked ordinary, even poor every time I see him play. Anyway, thanks for explaining.
Here's my take on Costa: slow, poor first touch and invisible; certainly not in the class of Suarez, Balotelli & Muller then again Rooney & Cavani haven't exactly been blazing a trail of glory; which is probably why Jose is looking at another striker as insurance.
Balotelli did nothing either bar a simple back post header and plays one good game in 4. Costa will be good for us once settled I'm sure.
