Fair enough if we don't want him but we're making a mistake if we replace him with Lukaku IMO. Costa has got so much more to offer than goals, whereas Lukaku will stick the ball in the net but he has so many games were you don't even notice he's on the pitch. Are Lukaku and Morata actually the only two available? What about Bellotti?
This is just a mad cap theory and I'm not saying it holds water, but......................... before I get ahead of myself we do not know Costa's 'jokey' reply to Conte's initial group text (it wasn't just sent to Costa alone.)...............................Conte's reply to the Jokey one he got could be a mis-interpreted wind-up one that caught Costa out. Conte maybe hardline when it comes to man management but he also understands player humour as he was one. Lets say Conte knows all about Costa and his agent forever looking to raise his wage at Chelsea with transfer scares and by actual wheeling dealing behind Chelsea's back. Wouldn't a simple text reply like that be great bait? Conte can still say he was replying in kind and it is all a joke, 'cept Costa didn't get it.
Writing of Harry Kane, what a fantastic last minute equalizing goal for England against Scotland yesterday. I spent last season chanting 'Harry Kane - he spits when he scores'.....it was me spitting with delight yesterday when he got that goal. The Spuds are very fortunate to have such a great talent.
Costa is a pain in the arse unfortunately. He's forever trying to get more for himself, a better deal, a switch to China, a new contract, he never seems to be satisfied or happy. On the rare occasions he is happy he plays really well, then he gets the hump again and plays like he's on Prozac, then a new contract offer and some more great form. Lousy team man, untrustworthy, sly and underhand. If it's his manager causing the problems then Costa could stop it in a second, but doesn't. A potential great, but bad attitude means he leaves with very few sorry to see him go, me included.
