    Cheers mate.

OF course it will be silly to blame everything on Gerrard especially since Johnson, Agger and Lucas are injured but there is something about Gerrard which isn't right. He doesn't contribute as he once did and I feel the whole team play better without him.

A very well balanced post, some are being way to premature with Kenny, he needs more time. Enrique has been a success too. And Carroll and Henderson should come good in time. Even Adam and Downing could improve or will at least be excellent squad players when we reinforce in the summer.

    Long live the king.

I wasnt one of the people calling for him out. But to me it felt like the right time for a change.

The thing that caused me issue with Rafa was the way he dealt with the whole Alonso exit situation. He kept dragging it out, even though we new Alonso would leave, and it ruined our pre season preparations.

I actually think that was the main reason why we started the season so badly.

I got the impression at the time that he had fallen out with some important senior players. I in fact see that as my only concern against Rafa returning should we change managers. Can those relations be repaired.

Those important senior players would be Carragher and Gerrard who could quite frankly piss off if they have any problems. No one man is bigger than the club and the same applies to those two as well.

It's funny how the likes of Mascherano, Agger, Skrtel, Aurelio, Arbeloa, Torres, Reina had no problems with the manager and they are all top class players.

The only people who had a problem with Rafa were the ones who weren't good enough and weren't willing to try hard enough.

Ha! so he did, different manager, same knee jerk problem with the fans! Makes my point just as well!

  7. I agree with what you are saying but the situations that Rafa and Redknapp found themselves in are very different. Redknapp was wanted by England having done a very good job with Spurs, the players believed in his abilities and, therefore, trusted his judgement. towards the end of Rafa's reign the performances and results were poor and the 'lost the dressing room' comment is more to do with the players beliefs in the manager. Two very different scenarios.

I'm not sure that it was the manager that the Liverpool players lost faith in. It probably had more to do with the toxic climate that had been created in the club. However, Rafa's personality would certainly not have helped.

  9. Quite possibly and i am certain Rafa's personality didn't help the situation, H&G saw an opportunity to dispose of the man that had the backing of the fans (well, a lot of the fans) and was causing them so many problems in the media.

I actually said I didn't want Rafa to leave too <ok>

I wasn't calling for him to leave, but I did feel he'd probably taken us as far as we were going to go under him.

Never wanted Rafa out; not sure how much fans are influenced by the media to be honest. I feel sure that had Rafa been around in the 90's before 24hr media that he would have stayed. Now in order to create stories there always has to be someone who is 'under pressure' or ' has lost the dressing room' etc.... In the next few days expect to see people saying Dalglish should walk or be sacked. The amount of sackings nowadays seems to be a correlation of the media coverage, there is only so much transfer gossip and replaying of goals to be screened. I still cannot believe a manager of Rafa's class is still out of work, unbelievable Jeff!

He has said he is yet to be offered a job by a club that matches his ambition. Which to me suggests he is turning offers down.

He was link with Aston Villa and Wolves when they were managerless.
