And it has it's own light source, it's not the sunlight bouncing off it.

Do the theorists have an explanation as to what is powering the moon's light sauce? Or why the moon decides not to be full all the time but mimics the effect of the earth getting in the way of the Sun which is only a hop, skip and jump away?

Aye they have an explanation, some sort of optical illusion iirc, apparently the sun and the moon don't vanish on the horizon, they are simply too far away for us to see any longer.

There's a video somewhere of a guy pouring water onto a melon/football or summat and because it doesn't stick to the sphere he says that's proof that the earth has to be flat.

I think Eddie posted that on here. Of course if the world was spinning the water would run off and not stay where it is because of gravity like the scientists would have us believe. We are obviously balancing on four elephants who are riding a gigantic turtle through the cosmos. Terry knew.

I had an argument with one of my mates who swears vehemently that no one actually believes in the Flat Earth theory.

He was determined that it's one massive practical joke being played out and he could not comprehend how anyone could be stupid enough to believe it, sadly for him fundamentalist Christians will believe almost anything.

Basically the sun is really really bright. So bright that in most photos and videos it just appears as something at the maximum brightness the camera can handle, so just appears as flat white.

If there's something in front of it that's transparent enough to let though a lot of the sunlight, then that bit will be less bright, but still higher than the maximum brightness the camera can handle. So the camera will still see it as the same as the rest of the sun, bright white. This creates the illusion that partially transparent objects go behind the sun.

The upper cloud that goes "behind" the sun is transparent, so the sun shines through it.

The middle and lower clouds are less transparent, so they partially block the sunlight enough to fall below the maximum brightness the camera can handle, hence they are visible, and seem to go in front (which is what all the clouds are really doing)
