I'm sure I heard the match reporter on the FLS say that the 11 game unbeaten away run matches a City club record, going back to 1949?

If he did, I think he could be wrong...

Its been mentioned that City's unbeaten away run of 11 games matched a record for the club going back to the 1948-49 season, when City ran away with the 3rd Division North title to gain promotion. However, according to the stats, the BBC have it wrong. City's best unbeaten spell at home did indeed come in that season, 13 league games unbeaten (7 wins and 6 draws) and if you throw in FA Cup games, make it 17 games (11 wins and 6 draws)

It was a vintage City season, in which they only lost once on the road, in a 4-2 reverse at Valley Parade against Bradford City, being unbeaten in.

Sure were Ealing .Amongst those goalscorers I'd forgotten all about Ernie Shepherd and also the quantity of goals that came from Ken Harrison who eventually became a neighbour and golfing partner .

Ernie Shepherd played 15 times for City, scoring 3 times and Ken Harrison played over 260 times for City and scored just 51 goals from the wing, but he should have scored more, if contemporary accounts are to be believed. He left to go to Derby in 1954 I understand.

Thanks for that! It brings back wonderful memories of those great players. I was 12 at the time, on Bunker's Hill with my Dad during that season.

BBC/Sky were talking about the away run, you're quoting the home run?

Being an older suporter and this being just before I was born, can't help thinking of times gone bye, and all the local talent thats has passed through HULL CITY.
My mind is working over time, thinking of past players.
Thanks for the many years of enjoyment, even when things where quiet in Bothferry Park.
Looking forward to the future our new look Tigers and more enjoyment. U T T

Ah, you just make the silly mistakes like calling the away run a home run in the text with the list then. ;)
