Did England go Spursy?

So, despite a great tournament surely way beyond any of our expectations we suffered heartbreak with an et defeat to Croatia, who very much deserved it. The lads have done us proud and we actually started the match very well and could (should) have been a couple up by half time.

Just curious to see if others think that having a lot of Spurs players in the side led to us bottling it? We seemed to go a bit Spursy, particularly after they equalised and didn't have anyone to take control of the situation.

I don't want to be too harsh as Kane and Trippier both had very good tournaments which contributed to our success. But I can't help but feel that having a club well known for bottling it make up a good chunk of our team led to the bottling and hiding we saw from a lot of the team from the minute they equalised.

Hopefully they'll move on to bigger and more successful clubs soon and won't be hampered by that serial loser Poch in time for 2020 and have a winning mentality.

Kane was quiet and should have scored. Looks to me like he’s either exhausted or carrying an injury.

But it wa a team thing. As discussed with Ginge, once they took over centre park, we were always hanging on.

 

True. We had the chance to put it to bed in the first half. 2 nil and it's a different game. We have to kick on now.

 

Thst was it. You felt that first 45 they were there for the taking and we could/should have buried them.

Second half they changed tactics. Pushed up, pinning our wingbacks in their own half most of the time. Then we conceded the midfield.

Unless we got lucky it was only ever going to end one way, unless Southgate did something. He didn’t.

 

They might have gone all Southamptony but there were no facking Southampton players there.

Personally anyone who turns this into a Spurs thing is an absolute hypocritical two faced **** face who would have been lapping it up had they won.
