That's not what he meant. I think he meant that's what he needed each year to match the losses. Other times we are told that Hull Tigers is his pet name rather than a commercial decision.
I despise these gutless cretins who will accept anything because money has been waved at them. They couldn't be more weak, and yet they have the gall to call out people who are genuinely upset about the altering identity of a club aged 109 years. It stinks. There shouldn't be dictatorship like this on issues as fundamental as the identity, at the very least should be consultation. There is nothing wrong with fans questioning the Allams on this, they NEED to be questioned on it. I can't hide my contempt for those pathetic lemmings who will simply roll over time and again because it's Mr Allam and because of what he's done so far. It's shameful. As far as I see it, the club he saved is now dead. So what was the point?
I think this asian betting company was on board before the name change, this is **** all to do with the name change and was probably done and dusted soon after we gained promotion. The timing of the announcement now that is a different matter, just at the right time to make it look like the name change was responsible. I might not be a businessman but I do know when the ****ing wool is been pulled over my eyes, unlike you obviously.
Am I the only one that heard him say Pepsi Cola and Coca Cola were one word?! If Allam is just going to run the club and not put any more money in, then I'd rather we got some other investment from elsewhere, otherwise we're never going to grow as a club.
I bet the owners of Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City and a few others I can't be bothered to name wish they only had a deficit of £11 million. In Football club terms that is **** all. We all know it is wrong but heh football wants to play like that it is up to them. Football has run on debt for years.
I don't understand why all the people who 'don't care' are even arguing with the supporters that do. Half of you are on wind-up, we get it. Those that actually think that a name change makes positive business sense have clearly never owned a business and know **** all about much in general. In my opinion, the 'fans' who are saying Assem can do what he wants because he puts the bread on the table are the same as those that would dob in their neighbours to the Stasi for an extra pound of sugar. Spineless pieces of ****. Questioning/ checking authority is a GOOD thing dickheads.
May I suggest that the dinosaurs get together in the sad few shothole pubs that most are deserting in droves and eat pies together and chunter on telling each other about their contacts at the club etc and leave the 21st centuty to those who want to enjoy it.Maybe you can get someone to bring along a page 3 girl to comment on. I was talking to Ash the other day.......... THANK YOU MR A for trying your best.I for one am gratefulI do realise you may need to be flexible as all business men do and some ideas may not work out BUT prem soccer rather than administration shows mw you may know more than many of your critics
Why does he continue to allow himself to be interviewed when every interview he does is so clumsy and embarrasing, who is advising him on PR? Apart from the ridiculous name change everything else seems to be going so well, excellent recruitment and preperation of the stadium for the prem, why stubbornly upset the fans with a name change now? And an 11M deficit is surely relative and manageable in the Premier League?
In one corner, we have a man who confesses to have no real understanding of football and doesn't understand why the Club's history matters. A man whose two major transactions recently were buying Hull City AFC and an attempt to create a development around West Park, both of which where described as poor decisions if looked at purely from a business perspective. In the other corner we have the combined knowledge and experience of the bulk of the football world. I doubt anyone is ungrateful to Mr Allam for saving Hull City AFC, but almost universal reaction to this proposal from the international football world should at least make him stop and think if not take decent advice. If you save a puppy, it doesn't give you the right to abuse it later.
100% in agreement with these comments. Have supported City longer than a lot of people on this forum and have seen City nearly fold on more than one occasion ! Don't wish to see those dark days again !
Allam has a noose round the clubs neck. It is his to do what he likes with. Only a mega rich billionaire can afford to buy us out, we still have a stupidly huge amount of debt which has just transferred hands from the banks to the Allam family. I actually like the name change and think its a good idea now, after I've heard reliably that it was a huge factor in Huddlestones decision to come here, well not the name change itself so much but the whole vision for the club, of which the rebrand is supposedly only the tip if the iceberg. What I do object to is the way the went about doing it, rebranding areas of the club whilst lying through its teeth to the supporters that it was just tidying up specific things, then fat twat coming at us in a 'me vs you' manner being quite hostile about it all.
To all the doubters shut the f*ck up and support your team and get behind the allams. We have gone from a club destined for administration and out of the football league to a club in the premier league with fantastic young talent/prospects, a very good manager, some great signings such as huddlestone and livermore and none of this would of been possible without the allams. It's his club, he owns it so he can do what the hell he likes with it, he's pretty much saying "It's my club, i'm throwing in the money, i'll do what I want". Let him do it, he has the right, for as long as he keeps investing and taking this club forward I couldn't give a f*ck about the name as it will always be hull city at home anyway! Stop going on and on, for those of you that don't work and have plenty of time on your hands do something more constructive than setting up stupid bloody petitions and going on and on about it and bringing any positive news down with your negative attitude. And start getting behind the team for arguably one of hulls biggest matches this Sunday! UTT
; <------------ This is a semi colon, it breaks up long sentences and prevents over usage of the word 'and'. Again, this kind of post, while I can't really be arsed to talk about the name change again (although the bit about signings I agree with), is what I was talking about in the 'Anybody ever experienced this' thread. You're the #1 Hull City fan for the day. Somebody give the kid a medal. Or a mug. Or whatever's kicking about at the back of your kitchen unit. I found a packet of tungsten tipped screws this morning. Never gonna use 'em. Never gonna use 'em.
