Obviously it won't happen but imagine if they got Marcelo Gallardo, Bielsa, De Boer or someone of that repute <yikes> We'd be guaranteed bottom spot. At least we have hope of 19th at present.

No chance they will end up with someone absolutely desperate like us.

If there is any common sense left at the top they should get Allardyce, simple fact is he knows how to get a team through survival and build upon it, the only problem is that Short has to change his approach to the club, same as Ashley too wedded to a business and player recruitment structure that is quite clearly not working to produce any good results on the pitch. It is time for a change at both clubs or the Championship will be home for more than one season this time.

Be careful what you wish for.

It's happened now so we're going to find out if he's as bad as you say. You might well be one smug bugger around May time. I'm guessing your new gaffer in the next couple of weeks will get you guys going as well.

I just hope we're both still up there at the end of the season.

Don't need to be careful mate, he is an absolute nightmare. I would feel for you guys but my sympathy is limited haha. Seriously though the football is awful - never changed wherever he has been. One depressing long ball affair with percentages and stats after another. That's not football and not what Sunderland or Newcastle is about. His ethos is horrible. Would I sacrifice saving us if it meant having him back? Would I ****, I'd honestly rather be in the conference. Ive said before the pl is not the be all and end all some make it. There is a line and fat Sam is way way the other side of acceptable.
