Do they still have David Bentley, they might as well start him as well Diarra would be a good signing for us, too. Defensively I see him more disciplined than Song but i would still prefer Song. For Tottenham he'd be a could combination with Modric in the middle of the park.
Fabregas was the difference though. The guy was an assist machine in the 07-08 season. Van Persie never had a Fabregas on top form last season and Nasri only got ONE assist or something. Van Persie was very clinical towards the end of last season. 18 goals from 19 games is amazing. Most of the time he made something from nothing balls and passes into the box.
I think last Seasons midfield was actually our best since 2003-2004. Its our defence that let us down.
It's a little ironic... I seem remember in the match against Liverpool we were absolutely irresistable in 2007/08. Amazing performance that day...
