If we get Diame id be touting Gardner to all the midlands clubs. Money in the striker kitty.

Personally would take him, better than Gardener imo but is very defensive

HOWEVER, this leaves serious doubts for a player who imo has the potential to be far better than catts/colback, Meyler could tackle, he can pass, and he likes to get forward

Would wanna give Meyler a chance before getting new defensive mids in

I am not sure that MON fancies Meyler - he has been fit for a while without getting much of a chance.

I reckon a deal was done with Gardner at Xmas along the lines of if he was still homesick in the summer we would let him go back to the Midlands.

With Ricco likely to be off as well I can therefore see us being 2-3 midfielders down on where we were leaving space for the likes of Diame and Johnson (although I agree with earlier comments in that I can't really see us getting AJ)

Diame in and Gardener out would be a good bit of business or even Vaughan, more height (been lacking for a while), power added but he wont necessarily get lots of goals but he should get about 5 or 6 so a season hopefully, more than Vaughan/Gardener/Catts/Colback last season.

If it happens he will go to the ACON in january. Good first addition if it materialises.

Aussie, I have to agree with Poolie on this one. I would sell Catts if we got Diame, Catts is a liability to be fair. I would have Diame and Sess in centre mid, but that's my call.

    ....................Fletcher......and ?................

    McClean..........Diame......Sess..........Johnson

....Would be amazing, but I am only dreaming !

Agree mate, god knows why Aussie mised out Sesssegnon, I thought his team didnt look right,

    ....................Catts................
    ..........Diame..........Sessegnon...

    McClean.........................Johnson
    ..................Fletcher.................

Although Im also in the "no chance we will get Johnson" camp.

that is two defensive and far to predictable IMO. All the creativity is down the wings and totally defensive through the middle. First of all we should keep Sess.

For me I would love to see

    ---------- Fernandes -------- Colback/Diame -----------

    - Johnson ---------- Sessegnon ------------- McClean -

    --------------------- Fletcher -------------------------

creativity though the middle and out on the wings with central midfielders who are good on the ball and can win the ball back

I'm also in agreement, Diame in Catts out seems logical, Jack is going to be first choice, his development rate is fantastic.

Start of the season, I (correctly) was in the 'what does he do??' camp, over the season he gained confidence, started to look forward more, and proved a capable left back as well.

Jack has a big future, forget Catts new deal, give Jack a wee pay rise!

dont think we will go with out and out strikers mate, will be someone like Fletcher with hopefully Sess or a player like Sess roaming around linking the play

We'd get hammered if we played Sess in the middle of a 442.

    ..................catts......Diame................
    Seb...................Sess................McClean
    .......................Fletcher..........................

More realistic imo. Someone like Matt Phillips brought in to compete with Seb on the right. Colback will play the 15 games catts is suspended at the very least and may keep him out the team.

Spot on that Poolie but instead of Fletcher how about Bas Dost? Available for 10-12 million and scored 32 last season (top scorer in Dutch League)

    ---------- Fernandes -------- Colback/Diame -----------

    - Johnson ---------- Sessegnon ------------- McClean -

    --------------------- Bas Dost-------------------------

I think we'll get more class than this from MON's dealings this close season, imo.

Yes, I think we'll get Fletcher and probably Diame, but I thinnk the likes of Catts and Larson in midfield will have their work cut out to nail down a regular starting place with other incoming quality signings too. The same goes for defence, LB, I think, will be addressed and other additions to cover for CB's.

It's also going to be interesting, to say the least, to even guess which personel leaves to make way for the new faces.

    Roll on 1/7/12 !

Am I the only one is very unexcited by the prospect of Fletcher? Diame is better than Catts mind so are most DMs!

Sunder no you are not the only one. I'm sure Mon can bring in better quality than this!
