I think he looks quality. Big, strong, powerful. Has got pace and can easily dribble past opponents. At times in the Bolton game he was storming past their entire midfield with the ball, like some kind of 100 metre sprinter. He will devlop into a quality player. Hope he stays, him and Faurlin will make an excellent central midfield pairing
Agree, I thought he was pretty good at Bolton. We will probably need to be in the PL to keep him and Ale though.
I think we should start thinking about letting a few go now maybe experiment a bit by playing 262 We need to offload this lot ASAP and get some young hungry players in on 10k a week so we stay mid championship table where we belong
This is all very observant, but who do you propose we play instead? Someone's mentioned playing Mackie in central midfield: now surely there's a farcical decision; Mackie's done well for us this season and probably deserves a chance through the middle, but up top not in CM where he clearly doesn't possess the touch or range of passing required. As for last years players, when you look at who's performed the most consistently, you'd have to say it was last seasons players: HH top scorer; Mackie second top; Tommy Smith scored 2 important goals guaranteeing us maximum points; and I think Hill's done pretty well also. Perhaps if the new players had contributed equally (with some notable exceptions) then we really wouldn't be in this situation. How SWP has kept his place mystifies me! Terrible at Bolton, should have been replaced by Mackie far earlier. Besides Diakate (?) looked pretty decent at Bolton, mobile, pacy and good skills.
