I too think you're spot on Ollie, but like you hope I'm wrong. I think Robbie will up and walk away if RA sticks his oar in, and bugger the payout, he's a very honourable man. The others were on big payouts, Robbie will walk into another big job. Let's hope the glass is half full and it all works out as we'd like .
Cheers guys - I feel a little less like the prophet of doom now! I really hope I'm wrong as well. Nothing would make me happier than for RDM to be managing a successful Chelsea side 2 or 3 years down the line, blending his signings with some of our academy graduates. The difficulty, as always, is Roman's thirst for instant gratification doesn't sit easily with the notion of bringing young players through. Let's hope that Robie can continue to achieve the seemingly impossible and manage to do both at the same time.
No you're not miserable - I think you are on the right lines. I thought I read somewhere that there is a one year no exit penalty clause on the RDM contract. Can't remember where though. If true that would support what you say.
I really dont want to agree -but I cant. I therefore agree with Tel & hope he Plays a blinder.I've always liked Robbie he has no hidden agenda..Good luck son
Maybe Barca hope to get Pep back because they've only given their new guy a 2 year contract....oh and that apparently has a one year clause too.
If he is that good and obviously done a good job for the club, how come he wasn't picked for the job before?
Because the owner was was hoping to snap up Guardiola, the retired Barcelona manager! Dont you read the newspapers?
I think everyone knows the true agenda here is that it seems like we are just waiting for Guardiola to say yes to Roman. The key for RDM and the team is to do such a good job that it makes it impossible for him to be moved aside, but I wonder sometimes that even if he did the quadruple would he be given more time! I'm also not so sure Guardiola would want to come to us given our record with managers to be honest. Who knows, but let's hope an old boy can settle in and create something special for the future
5W6--If Robbie does the quadruple they will build a monument to him! Roman will be unable to interfere with Robbie's status
what robbie has just done is amazing, won us the Cl, something that was just a dream to most of us. he will now be a chelsea legend what ever but i so do not want to see it all tarnished by him being pushed out after one season or even earlier. taking over when he did he was in a win win situation in terms of pressure. now it will be different, nothing changes and he will be expected to deliver the prem or the cl or both and i just hope that he can cope with this new pressure. In normal circumstances he would not of even been on the short list for the job and i just wonder if he has the experience for a full campaign. on the positive side he does seem to have the team playing for him and that must be a good start.
What makes me smile is the headline in the Sun after AVB's sacking saying that the players hated Robbie more than AVB - ****ERS!
