He was a good player for us but it went downhill when he was shunned by Lambert in the Championship, I've stuck up for him plenty of times but he has blown his chances at the club. I don't know what the problem is motivational issues perhaps?
It is great that we have these differences of opinion. To my mind normal ball control and passing is not talent - it is a basic requirement to be a footballer. Getting a shot on target by a striker is not talent - it is a basic requirement for a striker. Exceptional ball control, passing,dribbling or goal scoring is talent. Martin is only average at best in any department and, even getting away from his attitude, he has no pace and has the turning circle of a battleship which are considerable liabilities. In my humble opinion he is absolutely useless and I wish we had got rid of him years ago but, as I said, it can only be a personal opinion.
