Nah mate but she was still probably seeing them.

Wicked mate. Didn't go to Whitby went to one in Darlington. It was class, Packed to the rafters. The match on a comedown wasn't fun but apart from that and breaking my laptop's dc jack whilst chewing a hole in me cheek, it was a quality weekend.

I still think a lot of what Di Canio had to say echoed many supporters views of the team. While his public criticism of some players could be regarded as "improper" SO WHAT! They are playing in the entertainment industry after all and he was just saying what many of us thought anyway.
O'Shea is finished for me as I believe (rightly or wrongly) that he was largely responsibly for the debarcle ( and he's a crap has been anyway). As a new manager I would make it my first task to kick him out.
I remember the Brian Clough quote "they're men not boys", meaning if they can't take the criticism they shouldn't be in the football industry. The big difference between Cloughie and Di Canio is that he had Peter Taylor who cloughie freely admitted was the best person he knew who could diffuse a situation, pour oil on troubled waters etc. etc. I think this is what Di Canio was missing. I see a lot of similarities between the two managers but Di Canio needed the "good cop" personna to balance the attitude. Had there been a "number 2" of Taylor's calibre I think we would have been in an entirely different position now.

There's something about this situation that really stinks.

I had a horrible thought as I read your post that I really wouldn't want to be true, in any way.

    Imagine the scenario.

'Ball has decided, as he's stated, that it's time for him to be manager.
He confides in the English players who are probably turning to him to voice their feelings.
Ball encourages the players in their course of action, fails to back the manager and Di Canio is sacked.
Those same players are now, with Balls permission, in the media saying 'Bally is the man for the job' and also suggesting that they want an English manager.'

I really hope nothing like this is going on at Sunderland but something's not right.

You were **** on from a great height by **** players who are so far up their own arses they could brush their teeth from the inside Paolo.
Castigated for having the nerve to call out these over paid ****s.
Lynched in the media for daring to voice your concerns about players in public.
Disgraceful behaviour, no manager would get away with that.
    Oh wait!
    The special one can!
He can say he dropped a player because of his bad performance against Swindon and he didn't like his attitude in training!
This should be front page news in every paper shouldn't it? A manager of Jose's stature slanging off one of his players like that!
Nope all they are interested in is that Jose had the nerve to walk out on the parasitic journos.

I agreed with everything that PDC said and did for the most part.
I can't comment on the so called restrictions behind the scenes about the rules about phones etc. at training as it is all hearsay.
I absolutely back his calling out the lazy twats in public and don't go along with this he shouldn't do it in public.
Because if it was done in an office it would be counter productive.
This wasn't an office this was highly paid ****ers not earning their wages.
I worked in the building trade and have seen blokes laced for **** work in front of their workmates!
    You know what happened?
The bloke shouted at either improved or got sacked.
But I have always worked with MEN who acted like men and took their licks like men.
About 20 years ago I had a right go at a bricklayer who had been building a wall that even Yosser Hughes would have been embarrassed with. This was in front of the whole site, when I finished balling him out I told him to **** off home.
He turned up next day apologised for the **** work and I never had another problem with him and he is now one of my oldest mates. (The reason he came back? I paid top dollar for top tradesmen.)
The money our mercenaries are on they should be able to take honest critisism.
Lets not forget these "senior" players knifed PDC after a bollocking behind closed doors, so where the bollocking took place made no difference they are a bunch of whining pussies.
    Et Tu?

People are claiming we are better since PDC left.
We had already improved this season, we saw those same improvements under Ball and the same **** senior players costing us.
If not for **** decisions by officials and defenders this season, all could have been much better.

Letting PDC go and keeping the **** senior players could be the biggest mistake made by Short in his tenure here.

I really wish, when these senior players went to him, he took out their contracts put them in front of them and said if you have a problem tear these up.

You might be right mate, but we'll never know. There's arguments both for and against him, the players and even the board but one this is certain, it wasn't working. He may well have turned it round, the signs were there that he might have but we are in a 'results' business and our board, rightly or wrongly decided it was time for him to go.

Personally I would have liked to have seen him given more time, I liked the vision he had for us, it just didn't work so lets move on and see who comes in, hopefully he will turn it round whoever he is.

No doubt Paolo's methods were too harsh, I just think it was used as an excuse by the players. Lazy ****s.

Just realised my anger faces could have been viewed as directed at you fella. Not the case and sorry if it looked like that. It's general anger at Paolo's treatment by lowly employees and cowardly directors. <ok>
