Whether it's 25 miles or 25million miles is irrelevant. You had the chance to support your local team or a team supported by a member of your family. You chose a completely random team to support.

No, Watford are your local team. You can't define local to suit yourself.

Err I did, my older brother supported Chelsea too. Does that count and was Comas/99 right about you?

Then your older brother also doesn't support his local team. I don't think Comas has ever been right about anything.

Make your ****ing mind up. You quoted - "or a team supported by a member of your family." I ain't getting into an argument with a bitter scouser who contradicts himself and now I KNOW Comas/99 was right!

    Scouser? The ultimate insult.

I haven't criticised you for supporting Chelsea despite the fact they're not your local team, just highlighted the hypocrisy. Usually people support their local side or it's a family generational thing. Obviously I have no idea whether you have children but if you do no doubt you'd want them to support Chelsea and would be disappointed if they decided to support Spurs because they liked the shirt, are above Chelsea in the league and are "local".

How the **** is it hypocritical? If someone lives closer to Goodison park does that mean they have to support Everton rather than Liverpool? There's a world of difference between driving 25 miles to watch your team than having to pack a suitcase! I have FOUR children and they all support Chelsea! And going to watch a team and falling in love with them is hardly random is it? You're contradicting yourself again, HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU THAT MY BROTHER SUPPORTED CHELSEA or are you ignoring that cos it doesn't fit in with your argument. BTW, he was at the spuds game too. Does that give me a brownie point? I see you're one of these errr......people who love to have the last word even when squirming to wriggle out of their contradictions so off you go!

Clearly you've defined what is and is not acceptable when choosing which "local" side to support. No doubt your uncle was disappointed though when you and your brother decided to go "local". Did you ever refund him for the tickets? It's also a shame for clubs like Watford who only have the support of some locals until their heads are turned by other "local" teams who have nicer shirts.

If your hypocrisy helps mend that chip on your shoulder then more power to you.

    Carry on.

I see you're outraged by everything except your contradictions. Also, before you mention chips on shoulders, I suggest you read some of your comments throughout the forum and worry about your own!
    Carry on and good day!

This is weird debate! Everyone has reasons for loving their club, and it has nothing necessarily to do with how close they happen to be to where you live! Should we all marry the girl next door? What happens if , if, as a lot of people do, we have to move our homes--for work reasons, to get married/divorced? Do we then have to change allegiances? When I bacame a blue I lived equidistant fro Chelsea, Arsenal, West Ham and Tottenham (when they were top dogs) I just happened to accompany a mate of mine to Chelsea , because he begged me, and I was "captured" forever! Now I live in deepest Kent--so what does that make me? A potential Gillingham supporter? Perish the thought

Seems the thread has strayed somewhat from it's intention so getting back on track.

It is very clear that the club/RA are not going to invest in the SB site in anyway so we have 2 very clear options.

1)Don't back RA stagnate under FFP and fall back in to mediocrity.
2)Back RA,get a new stadium and compete with the best.

It's not a hard choice is it? RA has put 1Billion in and is asking the fans to do their part now.To build a new stadium will cost the best part of another billion and RA is asking for the fans to contribute. He's essentially asking for their vote so can can get maybe 50% back from the sale of SB.He's asking for the fans to vote to let him spend another 500m on us.I can't believe there are actually any fans that would even consider voting against him.

If you are a CPO shareholder you really have to understand that the next vote will be it.It's not a vote just about moving anymore,it's a vote about the future,or lack of it,of Chelsea FC.

Apparently, the rumour is that it'll cost £600,000,000 to redevelop the Bridge. can't see it happening. I'm a CPO shareholder and the only problem I saw was that there was no information regarding the long term future of the club after the move. We need to move on and if it means a move then so be it!
