When you think about how long Liverpool, Spurs, West Ham and Chelsea have been wittering on about new grounds, if Tony can get something confirmed this Autumn it will be amazing. A real leader.

When you put it like that list shows then WOW!

Equal to Anfield and bigger than Chelsea! That is a major leap!

So excited about our clubs future. It really is bright! Even better news from TF that it wont be a bowl which was my major worry.

Regarding distances from the pitch - UEFA have a limit on it if you want to be eligible for European comps and hosting internationals. So that could govern it a bit. One option is to have retractable seating at the front so for PL matches have it out, and for UEFA matches have the front few rows retracted.

Why would we need them for Euro games?

To ether roll the 1st few rows away for UEFA rules while keeping them close for the PL. The alternative is to be many yards away like SMS.

I think he means for the Europa League should we qualify.

Fair enough, cheers. Does that mean we wouldnt be allowed to play at home if we got into the Europa League now? I'm hoping the 45k figure includes seating on the playing area for concerts. It's ****ing enormous.

Wed have to net off several rows because you have to be x yards from the touch line. If we had retractable seating we could effectively increase the steepness of the lower tier but take out a bit of legroom and not lose any seats. It would be the same size as the bridge.

45 is the football capacity, I think the concert capacity would be similar because obviously you wouldnt have people at one end but there would be loads on the pitch which would be standing.

45k seems a bit stupid and ridiculous imo, honestly think it would be a bit embarrasing, 35k is a much more sensible option to me

For now, yes. What about if we start getting into Europe?

We could be in exactly the same situation as we are now where we cant expand.

Couldn't we do what Sunderland did? just build the stadium to 35K with the ability to increase when the demand is there a few years later?

    Makes sense to me!
