If he stays, Pearson will do a good job for us in L1.

As will Moloney, Flint and Cunningham at the back.
Elliot (if he stays) and Kelly will be 1st choice CM and hopefully Bobby Reid (please God not the moaning Australian).
Baldock, Davies (if they stay) and Taylor up top.

This is a good core to work with for L1.

I saw YTFC 6 times last season and every player mentioned above is light years better than what they have.
It's a massive drop in standard - Tangle and Fonts might even get a game.

Ship more out and bring some new, hopefully better, blood in and we might finish above the drop zone. I will be very disappointed if we don't make the playoffs.

Did we hire Sean to keeps us up or to make us a mid-table League One team and in my mind he failed at the first and if he can't achieve the second then he shouldn't be at Ashton Gate.

Message to SOD - I know you can get us back up next season and coming from me that is a plus believe me! All you have to do is make Ashton Gate the fortress we have always wanted it to be and take that same winning attitude out on the road - simples|

His interview is great to read. Sounds really promising and like Wynter wants to be in the first team! Now for Fielding

    First interview with new defender.

Derrick Williams says the chance to play first team football prompted his decision to seal a switch to Bristol City.

The 20-year-old defender turned down a new deal at Premier League side Aston Villa to move to Ashton Gate.

Speaking in an exclusive Bristol City Player video interview, Williams said: “I want to make a career for myself; Bristol City were interested and it’s a big club.

“It’s been going on for a few months now and I’m delighted it’s all signed and sealed.

“It’s a big decision to make (turning down the Villa contract offer) but I needed to take that step. I hope it’s the right decision.

“I played against Bristol City at youth team level. We came and had a look around the city, it’s a beautiful city.

“I’ve no issues dropping down to League One. The club’s aim is to bounce back stronger and it’s a great goal to have.

“I just can’t wait to get going now and meet all the lads on Thursday. I’m a bit nervous but I’m certainly looking forward to it.”

The 6ft 2ins German-born youngster says he prefers to operate at centre-half, but can also operate “along the back four or even in midfield”.

Williams progressed through Villa’s Academy and also boasts international experience at Under-21 level for Republic of Ireland.

“I did my YT at Villa from the age of 16 and worked with the likes of Kevin Macdonald and Tony McAndrew,” he added.

“I’ve been playing reserve team football for the last three years and it comes to a stage when you want to play for the first team.

“I’ve also played for the Under-19s and Under-21s for Ireland. The next step is to play for the senior team; that’s certainly the aim and hopefully this move will help in the long run.

“I know Greg Cunningham from playing for Ireland. I know he’s enjoyed his time here so far and it will be good to see him again.”

To be sure now, Derrick Williams looks remarkably similar to another City central defender? Are we sure it's not the old one after plastic surgery and a change of accent from Estuary English to Southern Irish brogue?

Given the choice would rather have Tango than Fonts any day in the team.
