    We could offer him regular first team football considering he might pushed out Leverkusens squad since they signed Schürrle.
    6 goals in 18 starts last season, all right considering he's a second striker.

    In Carr we trust.

    I've always liked him. A good technical player to bring others in around him and he can score goals.

    Would suit our proposed style of play.

    Score tally isn't everything.
    I reserve my judgement until I see a player play.

    There's things that you just cant put down as statistics.

    Love to get Pieters AND keep Jose but cant see it, Jonas to Stoke also cant see happening. Barton out quite likely. Airey out on loan a good move. As for Derdiyok i just dont know enough about him but he has had good reports and we desperately need another good striker in through the door. Agree goals ratio not great tho. Also agree that stats like that dont always tell the full story although everyone points to same stats Re Shola. Love us to still get Barnetta especially if Joey goes.
    Looking forward to Arsenal game now, i agree we have a great chance to get a win over them at the moment.

    Since playing for the Basel and Leverkusen first teams, Derdiyok's scoring record is 1 in 3.6 matches. Whereas Shane Long, since being converted to a centre forward about 18 months ago, had a 1 in 2 goal ratio.

    On the international front, Derdiyok's record is 1 in 10, compared to Long's 1 in 3.6.

    Yet many of our fans are so dazzled by the idea of a foriegn "star" joining the club that they pooh pooh someone right under their noses.

    If Derdiyok joins us, I'm willing to bet that Long will score more goals than him, nxet season. However, if I'm wrong, I am not willing to cut off any part of my genetalia, as a forfeit!

    i think everyone would be chuffed with Derdiyok but we've been linked with him for years and it never happened.

    Eren Derdiyok id one hell of a player!!! big, stang but nimble with great footwork. but he is only 22/23 so he would cost a a lot IMO. but if we bring him in with Barnetta when Barton leaves and Bring in that peters kid we would look amazing for this season!!
