Derby’s current position
Owe HMRC £25m
Secured football debts £10m
So the above MUST be paid in full.
They have “Unsecured debts” of £5m,
plus Mel Morris has lent over £100m to Derby,
Under the terms of administration they MUST pay 25% to their creditors to avoid a further 15 point deduction within 24 months.
In order to achieve this, Derby must be sold for over £60m to pay all the current debts and avoid the further 15 point deduction on top of the 12 they’ve already had for going into administration and the 9 they’re about to get for P&S breaches.
over £60m for a club in L1 and doesn’t own its stadium, it simply isn’t going to happen.
Their only hope they’ve got is if Mel Morris walks away from the 25% he’s owed, and at just over £100m he’s owed, that’s around £25-£30m

To me the biggest shafting by the football authorities was Luton many years ago when they were sanctioned to the point that survival was questionable and eventually they fell from league status. I believe the team was under new ownership by the time the sanctions were imposed which seemed a little harsh at the time but it does highlight that maybe some get better treatment than others. Are the rules written in stone to the point where it is clear to all those in the business that the financial aspects are there to be adhered to or do some use the rules to their sole advantage? Surely the financial impact of Covid has already woken up the senior officials at all clubs to feather their nest with players who don't earn enormous sums of money per week and actually have both the talent and desire to be an asset to the club.

I think I finally see that way of thinking to be alive and well down at Ashton Gate along with the blind leading the blind mentality being binned for eternity. Good managerial skills combined with a more common sense approach to team management has been sought by us for years and now that time has come and it will be nice to see where it may take us.

latest blurb from the admins look like they are hoping to negotiate a "nil pwointe" situation, or at least get them suspended to avert having a bigger deficit! this would be very very wrong they already 9 -12 points for previously cooking the books.

Admin: looks like they are attempting to say " look all that was in the past, new owners??? / ADMIN: trying to sort debt and get it sold, so lets go with12 we have and WSC !!!"

Derby owner, board of directors, accountants etc have knowingly done what they have firstly set out to gamble … then to cover it up … then to delay so didn't get relegated last season … but worse, knowingly not having the money robbed the third party suppliers who stand to lose £m's ………… The EFL been seen over before and taken action to kill off smaller teams now needs to step up to the spot and put the penalty into the back of net ……………

Morris also owns the ground and the training facility separately, which makes the picture even more murky.

And today it's being reported that Middlesborough's owner Steve Gibson is further twisting the knife by forging ahead with suing Derby over getting to the play offs under Lampard but doing so illegally by cheating FFP.

They are in the ****.

Gibson is on a major mission and to be fair I back him 100% on this.
