After over a year of uncertainty, the Rams fan and successful businessman was named as the preferred bidder last week and it was expected that a deal could go through today as he has already sorted the major issue involving the stadium.

However, whilst there’s no suggestion that the takeover won’t happen, reporter Mark Kielesz-Levine provided a fresh update on the situation this evening.

“Still Possible deal will be done tonight but not certain. Ppl working hard to make it happen- the target date was set by Quantuma. It’s the complicated nature of legally bringing the club out of administration that takes time.”
 
Derby's administrators Quantuma said that a target for completion of the deal had been set for Wednesday, but that day came and went without any takeover being rubber-stamped.

However, a statement dropped late on Wednesday night from administrators Quantuma saying that, crucially, Clowes Developments have transferred the money needed for the club to formally exit administration and only a couple of minor issues need to be dealt with.

It was said that Thursday is when it is expected that the 'small number of outstanding matters' will be sorted out.

Quantuma's estimating leaves a lot to be desired. Not one thing has been completed within the timescale they have confidently forecast

What does "Transferred the money mean"? Kirchner said he had transferred the money and it was bank holidays holding things up. Have Quantuma received the money would be more relevant given what has happened. And why would the money be transferred if there are still points to be ironed out. AND, if they are such small points, how come they weren't dealt with by Wednesday as stated. There always seems to be something causing deadlines to be missed

Well it's gone mid day on Thursday now so all should be done and dusted
 
Actually, just realised it said a small "Number" of outstanding points

"It is our expectation that these will be finalised tomorrow, Thursday June 30, allowing the transaction to complete then.

"The joint administrators would like to reassure staff, players and supporters that they are in receipt of completion monies from Clowes Developments (UK) Ltd, and the outstanding issues require a short amount of additional time to be finalised."

Sounds promising. I wonder what these issues "outside of the control of the joint administrators and Clowes Developments (UK) Limited." are

Maybe HRMS, WW and any other debtors. Is it not a concern that these matters are outside their control, in which case how can they forecast the completion?

Maybe the completion moneys are subject to external parties agreeing terms set by Clowes (Eg will not pay WW any compensation). That could defer it and earn Quantuma a bit more money

So what is the next estimated completion date? Why do they bother to keep saying the same things? We are all working hard but just a small number of issues, just minor issues, will be completed tomorrow, midnight, later today, it's very complicated, things outside our control bla bla. Ching ching

Sounding important and explaining how hard you are working is in fact the main priority of any Administrator. You cannot justify your mega fee without having set out why you are worth it ad infinitem. It would be interesting to know how much they screw out of this in the end. Watching it all unfold is so reminiscent of watching Argyle those years ago. "It will all be ok soon" "We are nearly there" "We are working hard to complete" "We have a buyer who has the funds" "We have another buyer who has the funds and just a bit of sorting to do" "It wasn't our fault the buyer pulled out" "We have another buyer but if this is not concluded soon then there is no guarantee the club won't be liquidated" "Just a few more things to iron out whilst we sell everything not screwed down including any player worth a pound" "We earned every penny of the £1.3m bill we have submitted". Etc etc etc.......... In the end they thrtew in the final insult. "We have brought in Peter Risdale who happened to be on a walking holiday in the West Country and called in to see how things were going and decided to stay" He also screwed us royally. In my opinion of course.

What rivalry it's news to me we have only played them twice, in the commentary on Tuesday night Phil Catchpole said about rivalry for one generation it was Slough Town for another it was Colchester. For me it was always Enfield or Hendon. Now it's probably Poxford or that other lot who sold all their players in the summer & are now in the bottom four serves them right..

You left out the horse punchers Bristol Rovers who hate us since lightningate a few years ago. <laugh>

The thing is with rivalrys since we have been a football league side, with promotion & relegation the teams change so much it's not so easy to build a rivalry., as you say mowgli about Bristol Rovers again that's a few years since we have played them. I can not even remember the last time we played Colchester
