It's like I said a while back. Administrators are more like asset strippers than assistance for financially strapped clubs. They get paid regardless and do very little for it. Derby are beginning to look fecked aren't they.

I've seen the list of Agents fees paid by League one clubs today Ron. Better watch out Wycombe stay within their means...............bleddy spendthrifts.
US businessman Chris Kirchner is set to be named as the preferred bidder to take over Derby County.
Kirchner is expected to be confirmed within 24 hours.

The crux of the issue now, as I understand it, is the 15-point deduction for not paying outstanding non-football creditors 25% of what they are owed.
In theory, this deduction should be applied next season.
However, I know the EFL were open to the idea of taking the points off this season if it was at a point when Derby's future was still to be determined.
Evidently, it still is. Realistically, it wouldn't take anything like the full 15 points to relegate Derby to League One from where they are now.
This is the most positive news out of the club for a long time. But the story is not over yet."

Surely that's letting them off by giving them another 15pts this season when they are already down
Can't see Derby trying to get these deductions deferred. Better for them if they are deducted this year. But that makes it all the more painful for us that EFL didn't do the same last year
After a seven-month saga, administrators Quantuma released a statement on Wednesday morning confirming that American businessman Chris Kirchner has been named as the preferred bidder, which means he gets exclusivity and preferential status to complete a takeover of the club. The club’s administrators describe the development as a "significant milestone" in the club exiting administration. It means that there is light at the end of the tunnel for Derby fans.
And according to talkSPORT presenter Jim White, Ashley is not yet giving up hope of being able to complete a takeover of Derby. “I wonder if it will be Chris Kirchner in the end, because I can throw a curveball at you,” he said on the radio station.
“Just before we came on air it is our understanding that although Kirchner has been named as preferred bidder, we understand here that Mike Ashley, who has expressed a strong interest in the club, this morning still maintains that strong interest. So he’s still in the mix.”

True, but at least a preferred bidder has been announced. Probably announced to tempt a better offer from Ashley. Seems a bit odd given the circumstances in which Kirchner withdrew his original offer. Time will tell whether or not this is just another Quantuma tactic
& it could go on a lot longer Derby's preferred bidder was turned down by Preston according to a report in today's Daily Mail he failed to prove his own funding or to produce his own business plan (Preston did it), to complete a deal by the 7th May when Derby run out of money. He agreed to buy Preston only to try & knock millons off the price a week beore their March 31st deadline. A source said His deal to buy Derby will cost roughly the same as what he was going to pay for Preston. Except with Derby Mel Morris is likely to keep Pride Park, the training ground is on a lease & the quad has close to no value, a lot of this doesn't make sense.
Next season there will be in league one.......Ipswich, Portsmouth, Derby, Yoyo clubs Barnsley, Peterborough and at least one of Sunderland, Sheff Wed. And we thought this season was going to be tough.
