"Derby County's administrators say they are in "active dialogue" with potential buyers and remain confident of naming a preferred bidder in the near future.
Administrators Quantuma are working "to clarify a number of matters" relating to the various takeover bids.

In a statement, they said: "Due to the complex nature of the mechanics of the bids received, it is necessary for us to work through each of these matters individually, to ensure the bids meet our terms of purchase."

Really, still? There are 3 ****ing bidders and they can't all still be in the race. Who the **** are they kidding?

Quantuma have all the figures
Prospective buyers know what they are prepared to pay

Lock each potential buyer in a room with Quantuma until they come to a conclusion. It shouldn't take more than a few hours before someone drops out. How come there are still 3 interested? How many more "complex" matters need to be ironed out? How long does each complex matter take to sort out FFS. These administrators are having a laugh - all the way to the bank

If I was a potential bidder, I would have all the facts and figures in front of me, tell them how much I'm prepared to pay, take it or leave it. Given a little room for negotiating to a pre-determined figure, that should take no more than a couple of hours, including lunch
 
At the moment Ron why would anybody buy now, they have only 11 games left the price is going to be different in the Championship to League 1, & anybody buying if they do end up in league 1 they could be there a while.

Any potential buyer should be bidding on the assumption they will be in League 1. They could easily have a clause that specifies an extra payment if they stay in the Championship. Not complicated at all.

If they need to know which league they will be in before buying, nothing is "imminent" or "near future". Could go to the wire

"Derby County joint administrator Andrew Hosking has revealed that there has been no agreement reached yet with Wycombe Wanderers in regards to their legal claim against the Rams."

"Brothers Adam and Colin Binnie, who are part of private equity firm Carlisle Capital in the United States, made a formal offer in January according to the Daily Mail of £28 million for the Rams.

That offer was increased to £30 million, which included purchasing the Pride Park Stadium that has money attached to it thanks to a loan previous owner Mel Morris took out from MSD Holdings.

However Quantuma, the club’s administrators, turned down the Binnie family’s latest offer on Tuesday and they are now officially out of the running to be the next owners of the relegation-threatened Championship side.

The Binnies have told the BBC that in their latest discussions with Quantuma they were informed that the administrators no longer wanted to speak to them unless they increased their offer for the club.

With that now being the case, the likes of Andy Appleby and Mike Ashley could be set to battle it out for the right to become preferred bidder."

"Compared to Middlesbrough’s claim, Wycombe’s is probably a tiny matter and that’s why it shouldn’t impact any takeover from happening – they are words from Hosking’s mouth."

That wouldn't even pay what they owe HMRC,they also owe an American company £30M and £8M to Arsenal for a player who never played a first team game and have defaulted on payments.

It is criminal. They are looking more and more like vultures every day. At one point they had 3 main bidders and a preferred bidder was imminent. 2 of those have dropped out. At the end of the season some players are out of contract and will obviously move to a new club, with Derby getting nothing. Unless they can outscore Reading by 8 points from the remaining 8 games, they will be in L1 next year. Who wants to pump more than £50m into a L1 club with massive debts ("In likelihood you would be buying a League Two team with an accumulated £50m debt. There are only so many people in the world who are out there and willing to do that." - Rob Couhig)

In 2018 Morris bought the Pride Park stadium from the club for £80m. Having lost, by his own estimation, £200m of his own money on Derby, it doesn't look a very attractive proposition

It looks pretty bleak and it might be worth looking at the feasibility of selling the stadium (for development) and clearing essential debts, with the balance used to fund a new stadium. Given the club means so much to the community, maybe the council would find and alternative sight on which an initial budget stadium could be built with expansion in mind when affordable. With the large number of fans they should be able to raise enough to buy a stake in the club to help fund the project. While the new stadium is being built they could rent the one they have sold for a while and/or share with a neighbouring club. Then ensure the club is run with a sound financial model
 
With them now being bottom again I can see the fight going out of them now, if they are still admin when they go down does that give them another pts deduction, I seem to remember that's what happened to Pompey, Luton & Bournemouth

George Clooney is rumoured to be about to offer to buy Derby,i first saw the story on the front page of The Sun when i was in Tesco earlier and it's also in The Mail online,i thought i'd lost a few days and it was April 1st already. <laugh><laugh>

Still no preferred bidder. Seems like bidders are now put off by the price of the stadium as they want that as part of the deal. Further points deduction likely. The money will run out so they need to get a move on - if they know what that means
 
The thing is once a football loses control of the ground you really do have problems. Rooney will get fed up & go as well in the summer.
 
Yes, he is dealing with this crap admirably. Patience can only last so long but no-one could blame him if he actually went. It could be that no-one has offered him a job and he needs the money. But even so, he is coping well
