If Cunninghams fit then my team would look like this Heaton Foster Bates McManus Cunningham Adomah Elliott Danns woolford Baldock Davies
We should hopefully take some confidence from the Wednesday game into the Derby one. As things stand, and given recent home failings, I would take a point right now. As someone else has pointed out, Derby are not great on the road. We need to ensure that trend continues.
Like some others I think if we stick with the same team as vs Derby we will get beaten and I don't think our win on the weekend is anything to write home about. Good win - yes, Season changer - no. I still think we are far away from the finished product and I have doubts that we will see anything resembling our wishes this season. We are in fanancial dire straits and spending will not be high on the agenda anytime soon, but I still believe that by shipping out some of the poor performers ( one person is high on my list - how about you?) and replacing the dross with commitment we may improve our lot. One of the biggest problems that I see stopping us moving forward and moving up the ladder is that we have too many underperforming players getting salaries that are breaking our bank and it's certainly not a new issue. If my memory serves me correctly we even lost a lot of money during our first season back in the Championship and rarely played before anything other than close to a full house. This brings me to the conclusion that we are a poorly run club in the leadership department and appear to be happy travelling down the same old road ad infinitum. Back to game against Derby and the question as to whether we will win or not, well based on last weeks performance and our general overall condition I think we need a major transplant of something and although it may appear briefly next weekend I don't think we will win but then again there's always hope - isn't there?
Only one change for me.. Cunningham in for Fontaine. Bryan was/is a LM player so no issue whatsoever with him carrying on there. Although Cunningham and Woolford had a great understanding at the beginning of the season. If only posh hadn't battered him I think we'd be better off than we are currently.
It could be Mike. It certainly would have been the worst result of the season if we had lost bearing in mind the two teams respective league positions. Whatever the financial result for last year, DMc said publicly that he would be still looking to recruit in January with some moving on. So a few more points scrapped/mugged/won luckily will have to keep us going a while longer. On team selection, I would be extremely surprised if Cunningham is selected without any previous match practice since his recovery.
'Redprintt makes a perfectly valid and long held belief among many, myself included that you stick with a team (if possible) after such a good win, as it breeds confidence' Supcon/Lan Lodger. We beat Boro and our next game was at Brighton NOT Wolves. McInnes changed a winning side and then changed it again after we were beaten at Brighton. 'yet Lan's point proves that this is not a guarentee of continued succsess' - Think it proves MY point -if any. The point I was trying to make is in our situation you have to begin somewhere and keeping a winning side is good start. Ohhh Hokey Cokey.
The donkey as you call him played his best football with Cunningham in the side. But he is recovering from shingles at the moment so I doubt he will be fit enough to play for a few weeks yet so you could be right
We need someone to keep Hughes quiet. Unfortunately we couldnt muster up a midfield tackle beteen us if our jobs depended on it
Well the test showed we are second best once again, Derby as other teams before them just took us apart.
