Just got back a few minutes ago. ****ing brilliant stuff City, performance of the season. Everyone played well, in particular Dave, individual performance of the season IMO. Looking forward to the second leg a lot now. If it had finished 2-0 I would've still believed Derby had a good chance, but that third goal has killed it in my eyes. An early goal at the KC would truly kill off all hopes for Derby. Now to the pub for a couple.
Was covertly keeping up to date in the first half on the BBC site and managed to accidentally hit the radio icon as Abel scored. Luckily everyone laughed. What's surprised me is there is a young, mid 20s, TWS fan with us. He's genuinely pleased it's looking like an all Yorkshire final. He's also not a ****. Who knew that was possible? Great result. Hope I can smash the exam tomorrow morning in the same way! Still only half time in the tie, but it's ours to lose.
I've always thought Wessie Leeds fans, while a bit delusional, to be no worse than any other opposition fans. Now Hull "whites", they're a whole different set of ****s.
As someone living deep in enemy territory, there's definitely a lot more 'realist' TWS fans than I expected. Though I suppose that fact that most of them are around my age and have mainly experienced Leeds' downfall means they are a lot more used to lower level football than the older generations. Hull whites, now they are proper arseholes. I should know, my old man is one (though he is technically a Withernsea white, which might be worse, as it's Withernsea).
The former yes, the latter, depends on the mood. As I put in my edit above, he's technically a Withernsea white, which may be worse.
Well, technically as Withernsea hasn't got a team, and it is several miles from Hull, I suppose he was free to choose who to support.
I'm pretty certain Leeds is a tad further from Withernsea than Hull. Oh, by the way, he started supporting TWS in the late 60s, and the rest of my family are City fans. He's a glory supporting TWS East Yorkshire White. EDIT: Oh, and With does have a team. and they've just won a few trophies.
From the Telegraph: looks like SB carries humour along with his rotundity: Eldin Jakupovic, the Hull goalkeeper, was only making his third league appearance of the season but cannot have envisaged such a stress-free afternoon and finally made his first save nine minutes from time. As Bruce colourfully put it, “I think I could have played in goal – if they could have wedged me in.”
Just in from work, never got to watch or even listen to the match, I'm only on page two of the tread but, judging by the result, it seems that they did the latter Dutch.
Apologies if it's been said in previous pages - but Tom Ince really is bang average. Fancy showpony with little end product. City were right on it. Derby evidently hadn't planned for the possibility of us scoring.
Supporting the geographically nearest team does not gain favour when choosing a team for most. I tried to explain to someone from Salisbury that he should support his local non-league team, or failing that, Swindon Town, but he supports Liverpool.
Marvelous performance. Some hairy moments i thought first 30 minures, we sat too far back. Superb strike by Abel. Moses showed what happens when you're willing to take a shot on. Fantstic last minute with Robbo's strike. I used to like Derby. They way they celebrated when they score the first at the KC was a ****s trick. **** em. Tom Ince is a **** too. **** em all. We'll batter Wensdee at Wembley. They know it and we know it.
Don't you just love these short sharp ' Just got back' match 'reports'. Lol I smell it again..sorry. Allam OUT
