@topklobber: Leeds United looked equally as impressive as Wolves did at a similar stage last season.. I’ll repeat what I said last year.. if we (Derby) finish above them we will get promoted.
My prediction is, if we win our remaining 44 games we will get promoted...you heard it here first, also I predict that my offy will open at 12.30 and I'll be on the cider
Went on the Derby forum on twitter and lots more comments like this one. Well worth checking out at #dcfc
We are all ecstatic and rightly so beating Stoke and Fat Frank's Derby. But the comparisons to Wolves from last season leaves me feeling a bit uneasy. For us under Bielsa, I think it's going to be more a case of the whole is more than the sum of parts. We don't have a sprinkling of £15 million pound quality players throughout the team. I really hope they keep their feet on the ground and keep learning under Bielsa. The commentators were saying that Douglas could well turn out to be the buy of the season. As it turns out, Bielsa could likely turn out to be the best steal of all time and Radz and Orta could have pulled of an absolute blinder.
Yet another stunning performance My concern when approaching the Pride Park stadium was whether we could replicate the Stoke performance away from ER. My doubts were soon put to bed as Bielsa's same XI ran riot v Lampard's lambs Positives Every single player wearing the new away shirt of Leeds Roofe was exceptional with two sublime goals, loved his header leaping like a salmon to plant the ball into the corner of the net, the type of goal you expect watching Real or Barcelona Klich the way he controls the engine-room with his sublime skills Saiz whose zest to get forward was too much for Derby to handle as the Leeds fans sang "Saiz is too good for you" Phillips is everywhere tidying up the pieces Berardi's tackles in the second-half, I could hear & feel his challenges from where I was stood, he landed on his head once & bounced straight back up again ready for the next tackle Fitness, formation, passing, movement, goals all top drawer once again Negatives Hard to be critical about the performance however Peacock-Farrell should have saved the wicked dipping shot that went straight through him. Credit to the lad he got on with his job & looked comfortable after his error Atmosphere Always special being a Leeds fan as we outsung the Rams support Our scintillating play soon shut the Derby fans up, I reckon their drummer boy must have made an early exit to the bar A good friend of mine, a season-ticket holder spotted me on the telly & sent me a picture looking quite pensive even though I was in seventh heaven I'm still nervous even when we are winning, the joys of watching Leeds United 6 Peacock-Farrell 8 Ayling 8 Berardi 8 Phillips 8 Cooper 8 Douglas 9 Klich 9 Saiz 8 Hernandez 8 Alioski 9+ Roofe MOTM
Oh, and old sparky’s sheep shaggers lost their first relegation 6 pointer at Bournemouth. Don’t suppose we’ll see much of him and the wallies this weekend
Nosing around a few other forums like Hull they are dismissing it at the moment saying we’ll burn ourselves out. This leads me to a sky sport commentator who said if you watch the Leeds players, you’ll notice they take it in turns to drift out the game for a few minutes, he thinks it’s under instruction to take a breather. As a Leeds fan it’s become our nature to fear “what if” I have a feeling we can continue this pace as long as the bench and reserves are used wisely, something I have zero doubt over when it comes to Bielsa and wisely
There is a possibility he is a friggin genius. Ten of the 11 starting players yesterday were available to last seasons managers
1964 great post. One thing I noticed on the telly was the way the commentators were making excuses for thousands of empty seats, oh its holiday season nobody on holiiday in Leeds obvs as no spaces at ER
Only gave us 2000 tickets which was pathetic. Could’ve filled their ground had they given Leeds those 5k empty seats as well
I do fear what if. What if it's the translator that's getting the message across and it all goes tits up once Bielsa learns English
Bielsa can probably speak better English than us but he is having fun doing it his way Would be really funny if he sneaked in a "lost in translation" remark or two, they're coming, you just feel it.
Maybe. Poch was the same at Southampton, he could speak better than he let on but the translator bought him thinking time. Spurs insisted he do post match interviews in English.
This time last season we were raving about Phillips and his goals, fast forward 12 months and some are unhappy as they see Phillips not playing well whereas Bielsa has a different view and this is why
