Roofe should normally play wide on the left. But with Hernandez through the middle, Mowatt has more experience and will need to put in a shift to keep his place.

 

There was a suggestion that Roofe was a player picked out by Evans before he left, Evans put the name forward to Cellino.

I do wonder when and if Roofe will get a proper chance under Monk.

 

He'll get his chance. But maybe a championship or L1 side on loan might help him

First half - We're looking busy off the ball, pressing well and breaking up play and getting a foot in but the 50/50 resulting balls seem to be sticking at Derby players feet at the moment.

Going forward we were poor, mainly our own doing, simple passes not finding their man.

Sacko made one early run forward (first 2 minutes) but since that he has been poor not tracking back and giving the ball away far too much. When he does try and press you can see the opposition know he offers no threat, it's more a token effort, they just play the ball around him like he's not there.

I have been impressed with our CB's and O'Kane so far, Ayling is also putting himself about, Mowatts lack of pace is clear early on. Hernandez, Sacko and Mowatt really need to get in the game more, all three have been poor.

Our defensive players are doing a lot of shouting, I get the impression they are not happy with the lack of movement ahead of them. Personally I would get Sacko off closely followed by Mowatt.

Bartley unlucky at the end, lost his man, clear header and nearly knocked the crossbar off he hit it that hard.
