Our first half was littered by a lot of waste in our passing and taking chances when presented. We had 2/3rds of the play and yet go in down 0-1 with a lot of work left to do if we want anything from this fixture. The next goal is crucial and if we continue this fractured display we could be on the wrong end with our first defeat and the subs today could make the difference. I would like to see Armstrong taken off and replaced with Mayalu because at least he knows how to find the net.
I’m with you regarding Armstrong I can see why QPR fans found him frustrating He had several half chances against Coventry last week but never looked like scoring from any of them
I thought we were a tad unlucky for their goal - a hopeful shot which made it through a crowd of bodies, taking a deflection into the corner. Max wouldn’t have seen it until it was too late. 99 times out of 100 that shot would have hit a defender in the box and come straight back out at him.
This is getting a tad concerning all the play and no goals-needs nipping in the bud. Not good enough needs sorting before it becomes the normal.
Gone to sleep again and now down 0-2 and the real Bristol City has finally shown up this season. Our football has gone back to being boring and predictable and although a lot of us knew this was a possibility it bites really hard to see this capitulation to a below average team by all accounts. Too many players have taken the day off and some are even worse based on their showings today and I'm growing weary of this constant having to apologize for being what we are, and that is a squad performing well below par yet again. For goodness sake give other players the chance to shine because most of the current lot have lost the plot.
We are very poor on winning second chance balls and we give more tackles away to the opposition which makes any creativity somewhat pointless. Our close passes are way off the mark at times and that's where games are won and lost. Very poor and let's hope some of the newcomers have more commitment to the cause.
Why not rub it in at 0-3? A shocking performance with the deserved result means we head back to the start again and if Manning can't see enough to fix it he is going to have a season of more questions. The brass clearly gave him some rope in transfers and now he has to reap the whirlwind with players that are his choices failing to meet the task at hand. We are a mere couple of points of falling into the danger zone and play like this will only increase the pressure on both the players and Liam to face the music.
Without Max it could have been 4 or 5 which sums up our team in a nutshell. Terrible day and perhaps I should have stayed in bed as I smelt this coming after a string of sort of O.K. results knowing we were capable of a stinker and today that is exactly what we got.
