Pretty sure RLB suggested ELF on left to get him up to speed before he's more central. Will have been a SAFC or Nick Barnes interview after Burnley I think.

Not supposed to wait in the championship either. As soon as a player is deemed offside, the flag goes up. This was definitely not what happened

He didn't get back to the half way line about 5 to 10 yds inside derby half then stood and put his flag up. Thought it went on far to long to then put his flag up. Didn't look offside anyway.

Apparently (someone on here will know)
The fourth official looked at a monitor and informed the ref about a hand ball
    Just a question I don’t know

no - the linesman put his flag up eventually. it was 100% given for offside. just crazy how long it took.

I was busy last night so didn't see the match. Just seen the highlights and read a bit of this thread... I had a tenner on Sunderland 2-0 Isidor to score. Feeling slightly sick now haha, if I'd seen it live I'd have been absolutely raging <laugh>

That was a rumour but was given for offside, just don’t know how you can give offside a minute after because you’ve therefore sat and thought about it for a minute and you mind will change

I’m all for opinions on here, ‘expert’ or otherwise, as long as people recognise they're using a large dollop of guesswork and don’t know any more than the rest of us …

… even on this point RLB may be lying and employing mind games.

It’s fine for people ‘wanting’ Rigg dropped but it doesn’t mean he actually needs a rest. RLB may believe it’s actually experience he needs to improve, not sitting on the bench.

Yes - on your last point - many of us were convinced Jobe needed a rest. But what's to say his insane development this year isn't because of how much he played last year.

May well be the same with Rigg.

Personally I think Rigg will still be here next season and I think he's going to be a different animal having had so much experience.

    The $64000 question!!

If he gets the decision wrong, as he did, and it’s immediate, then so be it. But this wasn’t. It took around a minute for them to decide he was offside. As if they’re thinking “we will use VAR”. He’s well onside too

RLB keeps saying he wants every player to learn on the pitch …

… I get the feeling some people aren’t listening.

Was the linesman in VAR mode then? Then realised that he shouldnt have been?

We can talk about was it offside? Was handball? Whatever. What we need answer's to, is how did they arrive at the decision and who gave it. Was it the ref's, assistant Ref. 4th official or their players who complained to the ref.

The top 4 keep winning or drawing. We can't rely on the other 20 teams in the league. They're too inconsistent, so it's down to how good they are on the day, but the permutations (assuming the top 4 teams who are not playing each other win) and assuming we manage to get a point at Elland Road are:

Leeds v Burnley: Leeds 3 points, Burnley 0, Sunderland 3, Sheff Utd 3
    Leeds v Sunderland : Leeds 1, Sunderland 1, Sheff Utd 3, Burnley 3
    Leeds v Sheff Utd : Leeds 3, Sheff Utd 0, Burnley 3, Sunderland 3
    Leeds v Burnley: Leeds 3, Burnley 0, Sheff Utd 3, Sunderland 3

So out of the round of matches where the top 4 clash : Leeds 10 points, Burnley 7, Sheff Utd 7, Sunderland 10.
We would make up 3 points on Burnley and Sheff Utd, meaning we would just need to match Burnley's points tally from the other games to finish above them and we would need to get 2 more points or improve our GD and get 1 more point than Sheff Utd from the remaining games to go up in second.

This might seem confusing to some people, but it's not half as confusing as that refs decision last night. <laugh>

What I find most confusing about it is Leeds v Burnley playing each other twice more. <laugh>

He put his flag up based on chatter he got in his earpiece. Shoved up the flag after the event to cover. I'm sure of it. It's the only thing that explains the events. If he actually thought it was offside in play he would have put his flag up.
