Matth, stop being a fanny and get yourself a fresh fade, listen to some Drake, get a North Face and some Vapormax and an e-cig and go out and get laid. Depression is so 2012 bro.

Lack of guilt or empathy are sociopathic traits....not labelling you one though Magic..:)

I have been called a sociopath on a few occasions, usually by girls after they realise that I have no interest in them beyond the obvious. I once did a personality test in school and was on the psychopath scale as well, not full blown kill any ****er psycho but quite a minor one. So maybe it is not depression and I am actually just a psycho :D Reassuring

I was depressed over the weekend, It’s got nothing to do with United losing to Wolves, I’ve been feeling down over the last couple of weeks, But it started last weekend.
You should speak to your GP Matt, seriously, just make an appt & tell them how you feel periodically.

It’ll do no harm whatsoever by doing this, it can only help, as they’ll offer you assistance.

So was speaking with an old friend over the weekend and he reckons that I've got some form of depression as I don't care about anything. I think he is being a **** and doesn't know what he is talking about but I looked at the symptoms and I tick a few of the boxes, although it says something like "lose interest in things you used to enjoy" which doesn't really fit me. I don't feel depressed or sad or anything, but I have always felt like this and have the emotional range of a tin of spam so I am not sure if that is linked.

Can't really be bothered to go GP about it as I don't see it as a problem really so thought I would ask on here to see if anyone had any advice

What you describe there isn’t depression imho.

What were you doing, skinning frogs alive? Are you sure you don't mean sociopath?

You'll know if you really are one. You'll have done some depraved stuff in your life that nobody could ever find out about...

I get the sentiments but it really isn't that straight forward. Some doctors still don't take mental health as seriously as they should and palm people off without the proper treatment that they need. This can and has made peoples conditions worse.

If I was I probably wouldn't find it that depraved.

I'm not, there was just some test thing which said that lots of people are quite high on the psychopath spectrum who aren't killers etc. A lot of highly succesful people were high on it as you have to be ruthless to a degree and not give a **** about people to get to the top.

Yep. Psychopaths manifest in many ways. It's not all about being serial killers.

If you are a psychopath, you'll have episodes. I've had two episodes when my depression went further and I done something psychotic. It breaks my heart if I think too deeply about what I done, because that's not me, it was the illness taking over. If I told anybody what I done, I'd be kicked from pillar to post by every single person living that ever came into contact with me. I get treated for bipolar and a personality disorder. I wouldn't dream of telling the mental health team about my psychosis. I wouldn't be able to live a normal life if I did.
