Don't think you can equate wealth to depression mate.

It's what he reckons he was depressed about.

"In the process, Carrick has spoken candidly about how the pressures of the sport, playing for a club with United’s unrelenting demands, took a heavy toll on him when he felt responsible for the team’s defeat to Barcelona in the 2009 Champions League final in Rome, allowed the vulnerability to infest his mind and plunged into a form of depression"

****ing drama queen.<diva>

Did you?, well you'll know why he was depressed?, the whinging millionaire ****er needs to live in the real world where some families worry where their next meal will come from etc.

Poor people shouldn't have time to get depressed, Figsy.

Yeah?

That sounds more like stress than clinical depression though obviously I'm no place to make a proper judgement.

Spot on, Carrick's got nothing to be depressed about by comparison.

But that's not really how depression works. It's not about having something 'to be depressed about', some of my worst bouts have come at the better points in my life.

Maybe he had an unhappy childhood, these things can manifest themselves in later life.

Nah, he cited the reason in the quote I posted, about a year before he said he had depression when he played for England because he missed his family while he was away.
He's got nothing wrong in his life that I'd have sympathy with tbh.

That may have been a catalyst but the underlying insecurity may have been there throughout his adult life.

Depression is more than just a low mood it is an actual physical illness/chemical imbalance in the brain.

I've been through depression for due to the loss of a close relative, it's an insult that someone is all over the press moaning about his part in the loss of a football match, it's a wonder Karius hasn't topped himself going by Carrick's bitching.

Yeah I'm talking generally really rather than specifically about Carrick, like I say I don't really know much about it and think this is the first time I've even heard it <ok>
