    I know what you are saying, Viking, and Lamah did have a tidy game. As it happened, I criticised his attempted pass to Bony because he was in on the keeper and I felt he should have had the confidence to take the shot. Wrong option for me. But I also referred to his break as brilliant, which it was, in my opinion. I don't recall anyone calling for his head, though. It was just one of those incidents in a game.

    However, I think Michael Laudrup would agree with me. Goal scoring chances come at a premium, particularly at this level, and the shot was on. We (along with Arsenal) have often been accused of trying to walk the ball into the net, or trying too often to score the perfect, the beautiful, goal. I think this was such a case. I bet Michu would have taken the shot - look how often he catches keepers out with early or unexpected strikes. But that is the difference between a regular goalscorer and an occasional one.

    Just saw the Den Haag highlights. Routledges goal was Poborsky-esque. Great touch
