Late last night:God let it be true. This would just round off an amazing week of transfers!!

@agent_153: #LFC look happy to miss out on #Dempsey after securing the #Sahin deal. #SAFC now look certain to sign #Dempsey

@agent_153: A friend of mine with #SAFC contacts has told me #Dempsey is having medical at #SAFC tomorrow

So I'm been told by everyone I really hope it's true <bubbly>
 
It would be an absolutely fantastic signing but will only start believing it when its on the yellow ticker of SSN

add 2 full backs and we would be ready to go

must keep Sess mind
 
This will happen I'm sure. It's this big signing where making this week that's got me excited just don't know who it is.
Everyone else has not slipped under the radar so it must be someone we've already been linked with.

Olsson linked in the press again today, does that mean strinic is a no goer now?

This (if true.... PLEASE be true!) and AJ show just the ambition Martin O'Neill has (and Ellis Short as well)

The doom mongers have been few and ar between these last few days

If this happens then I can't think (in my lifetime) of 2 better signings our club has made. (when we signed SKP no one knew who he was so I wouldn't call it a great signing until he made it a great signing by banging tem in.. I'm talking about at the time of the signings)

I agree that Dempsey would be a great signing - he's been top quality for Fulham for a few years now.

However I do worry a bit about where he'll fit, how we'll line up, who will drop out etc. We must keep Sess.

For me:

Catts - Dempsey

Johnson - Sess - McClean

Fletcher

...might work.

Not a bad problem to have I suppose..!

I would go with...

------- Larsson --------- Catts ---------

Johnson ------- Dempsey ---- Sessegnon

---------------- Fletcher ---------------


wouldn't like to hinder 1 of Johnson, Dempsey or Sessegnon by asking them to play further back as it is not what they are best at and it would leave the central midfielder (Catts) with a lot of work to do

For me I would drop McClean to the bench, not because I dont rate the lad because I do but at this minute in time he is not better than Sess, Dempsey or AJ

the only way we could fit them all in the team is if we went with...

<laugh> 3 centre backs with McClean (decent defensively) ad Johnson (shambolic) as the wing backs. That would get torn to shreds imo. You'd have to drop one of McClean and Larsson to play Dempsey. Seriously wtf is going on I'm starting to get pissed off with your signings, this will be 2 that would get into most of the top 6 sidesimo, who the ****s next?
