Oh my, you guys are actually serious aren't you? Allow me to make a few points

    1. United have offered close to £15 million, hardly the amount you pay for a 'squad' player, SAF is looking to replace Scholes and Dembele is the man he has identified to do so.
    2. The guy is in his mid 20's, the amount of progression from now onwards isn't going to be an awful lot. He will get better, but it won't be a radical improvement. There is only one aspect he lacks and that is goalscoring.
    3. He is already at a top 8 team, Fulham have finished ahead of you for the past few seasons. I could see Dempsey going but that's because he's screwed up his chances of going to a CL club and now must lower his sights.
    4. He's an automatic starter at Fulham.

Not doubting you have the money to put in a bid for him due to the price you paid for AJ, but Sunderland are no better than ourselves, the guy is looking to test himself at a higher level, something you or we for the moment cannot give him. A move to Sunderland would be a sideways move.

We have paid £11m for a 25 year old current English international from the champions of England? By the price we paid for AJ do you mean such a good one?

We could have got Joe Allen of course for £15m which is soooo much better?

Your club Fulham have done well and in Martin Jol you have agood manager I happen to like and admire a lot as well. However, the only attraction for player to go there is it is in London. If Fulham FC were located in Birmingham, Manchester, Yorkshire or here in the NE, it wouldnt attract flies if it covered the pitch in horse ****.

We havent set the world on fire in recent times but we can still attract twice the crowd of a London based Fulham. Potentially we have appointed a manager that could at last unlock the clubs huge potential here at SAFC and drive us forward. We have a 48,000 capacity 4 star FIFA rated stadium and an Academy and training facility bettered by none in the EPL. Forgive me for not agreeing with your analogy that we cannot offer Dembele or Dempsey a better opportunity to progress and grow. Our summer signings have been excellent and just a start. I like Fulham but dont try and telle me both clubs are similar as you couldnt attract 40,000 if you won the Champions League.

Finally, we also dont have a total dickhead for a owner who prefers to erect a statue of Michael Jackson over any footballers? Johnny Haynes must be turning in his grave. Not looking for a squabble but you need putting right chum.

Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself but I've not been this excited since the Reidy era.

    You still in Nigeria then?

Dempsey would be an excellent fit for our formations and team set up. He is flexible a a midfielder come striker.

17 goals last year says he knows where the net is too.

Fully agree Cest, he would give us massive options up front.

Crazy thing, a week ago Dempsey would have been a stunning signing.

Now he'd merely be a 'very good' one.

    I love it.

Safc83 - what source? People are very quick to put information up without links or facts to back up the quote because they are so excited about the way things are happening so quickly at the club and the quality of players linked. Don't be shy, give up your sources name so we can all get in on the act. Thanks for the heads up.

Out of all the names mentioned Mons, Dempsey would really fit our 1 up front/2 up front game plan and can play attacking midfield and striker equally well.

Imagine having Dempsey and Sess behind Fletcher, with Larsson and Johnson on the wings and Catts closing the door in front of the back 4.
