Lets be honest, we need goals, we are playing attractive football in the centre of the pitch but really needs some attacking options...... Suarez needs a break as was playing all summer and he doesnt look the player he can be at the moment, (although he still looks very good.) Borini has potential, but is still very inexperienced. Dempsey and or Sturridge would be a massive boost for our attacking threat..If those are the two BR has chosen, i will welcome them......Was disappointed last night with our threat in front of goal and think we need a bit more to not just repeat what we di last season.
Agree with this, think he would have been a good addition. the man scored nearly half the league goals OUR ENTIRE TEAM scored last year.
I swear people just follow what they perceive as the majority consensus! Dempsey would be good for us no question, of course I would prefer a world class striker. However this is not going to happen whilst we are not in the chumps league, Dempsey will be a valuable addition.
Sky Sports News' Pete Colley is at Bodymoor Heath and says Aston Villa have dropped their interest in Clint Dempsey as the Fulham midfielder would rather move to Liverpool. The Reds have yet to comment on any move for the American international.
Why wouldn't we want Dempsey? He scores goals which is exactly what we fail to do most games. For 6 million, get 2/3 seasons worth and hopefully 15+ goals a season (I'd take a 10 goal a season player currently though as an improvement on last year) we can't go far wrong. Even as a spot on the bench, Dempsey or Cole? Tough one...

I don't get it, everyone goes on about how great his goals would be, didn't we learn anything from the Charlie Adam transfer? He scored goals too - because he was the centerpiece of the team. Dempsey? They relied on him to score, they passed every ball to him, they made a system around him and he excelled in it. Here he's coming in off the bench, or starting in a system in which he is not the main player. It's not as simple as adding 20 on to our goal tally, he's definitely not going to step up and score 23 goals again. Mark my words* *now I've jinxed him, so if he comes I'm not too bothered.
Dempsey has always been honest about wanting CL football, so I guess he'll go to Spurs just before 11.
