    Ba said it was a secret as to why he wanted the numer 19 shirt, but I would imagine he would have taken the 9 if offered when he first arrived. Knowing how superstitious footballers are, I would imagine he will keep the 19 at Newcastle now.

    It's phenomenal some of the attitudes on that Liverpool board. 'they are Newcastle we are LFC.' going on like it's their god given right to pick any players they want and have them with out encountering any problems or objections from the board or the player himself who might like to have a say in where he wants to play. 'they are a mid table club', we're one point behind them!

    Phenomenal arrogance.

    You cant change squad numbers in January can you? If Ba is playing anything like this at the end of the season he will have more than earned the shirt.

    Cannot believe that Liverpool fans are seriously saying Ba isn't good enough for them. He has scored more goals this season than the £57m partnership of Suarez and Carroll put together.

    Pardew said in an interview recently that a lot of footballers are superstitous and get attached to numbers, this might be the case for Ba.
