While flicking through the Derby website I noticed an FAQ on demand based pricing.

So each hour the system reviews the demand for tickets and either puts prices up or down. With no limit on how high the price can go.

Seems a bit greedy. What do you think on clubs implementing this?

I'd hate that, imagine paying £100 for a ticket and then 9s picks up one for a fiver on his night shift!

That's a rip off anyway, the prices will go up but they won't go down by much.
Some jock club did a pay what you can ST offer, on average people paid half as much but they got three times as many STs so they made more money and will have a bigger crowd.

Hotels and airlines do a similar thing and put up prices when you go back so always clear your cookies before you book anything.

I understand airlines maybe putting prices up as seats become sold, but surely this system at Derby is simply to get as much money out of their pockets as possible! Imagine if they did that for the Wembley final - I dread to think what ticket prices would be at right now
 
Eurostar is awful for this. I went to book some tickets a few months ago, and the internet timed out during payment. When it took me back the tickets were £25 more expensive!
 
Agreed always reset your browser on a mac at least

9 years ago on a mac on Ryanair you could book your flights press the back button when they were in the basket
The prices then would go to zero
You added the free flights to the basket and deleted the ones with any cost in a new window

You only paid the airport tax in effect

They found out about the work round

Today the cookies cling like limpets so reset your browsers lads and you will see a difference
 
That's another thing, hotels charge more for Mac users because they think they will pay more.

Its amazing the ripoffs they do when you look into it.

Dave could have saved himself £25 by clearing the cookies in his browser.
 
My hotel this weekend is on Wembley Way and I've stopped tonight and Saturday night after the game.

I booked before we beat Sheff U and got it for £150 total.
I looked again after we beat Sheff U and to book it then would have been £380.
 
Dynamic pricing is the proper name I believe. All down to supply and demand. Hotels, airlines and cruise ships in particular do it a lot. Welcome to the future.....
