The level of media bias is what gets me. Obviously this is somewhat understandable for the English media during an England game at the World Cup but the double standards are ridiculous. Commentators and opinion heads getting just so angry when Tunisia were trying to see the game out for a draw and saying it's basically a disgrace, then as soon as England were looking to do the same to hold onto 2-1 it's all of a sudden tactically brilliant. There was other stuff but I can't remember now and don't really want to bother thinking about it.

I respect Harry Kane for being loyal to Tottenham without showing anything for it.

you are right. though again i could post their relative goal scoring records as well.

    kane for example

    2014–15 Premier League 34 games 21 totals 51 31
    2015–16 Premier League 38 25 totals 50 28
    2016–17 Premier League 30 29 totals 38 35
    2017–18 Premier League 37 30 totals 48 41

remembering that while great that a lot of goals are coming out of europa. This last two years have been more impressive.

    Sporting CP
    2002–03 Primeira Liga 25 3 31 5
    Manchester United
    2003–04 Premier League 29 4 40 6
    2004–05 Premier League 33 5 50 9
    2005–06 Premier League 33 9 47 12
    2006–07 Premier League 34 17 53 23
    2007–08 Premier League 34 31 49 42
    2008–09 Premier League 33 18 53 26

    Real Madrid
    2009–10 La Liga 29 26 35 33
    2010–11 La Liga 34 40 54 53
    2011–12 La Liga 38 46 55 60
    2012–13 La Liga 34 34 55 55
    2013–14 La Liga 30 31 47 51
    2014–15 La Liga 35 48 54 61
    2015–16 La Liga 36 35 48 51
    2016–17 La Liga 29 25 46 42
    2017–18 La Liga 27 26 44 44

    Games: 438 Goals: 450

    ....

    I won't even bother doing messi's. his is 669 games and 563goals

So i repeat for harry.. shut up and let your football do the talking.

There is a reason why ronaldo is hated and messi is not. He mouths off all the time as he needs to hear he is the best.

perhaps kane is a fragile ego who needs to hear he is the best as well?

well best not put yourself in these two's bracket then cos nobody will ever say you are as good as these.

Michael Owen(traitor)won the award for the same reason ' Arry thinks he might be in with a shout, goalscoring.
Tbf Owen won a few cups before winning the award, Kane plays for what is(compared to European elite clubs)an unfashionable club, the only way he'll have any future chance of winning it is to do the business in Spain and win the CL and domestic trophies.
If Ronaldo and Messi retired today players like Bale and Suarez and others would still be way ahead of Kane, big season for Spurs coming up, no silverware and Kane will be off, closely followed by Ali and Ericsson no doubt.

To be fair, Messi and Ronaldo wouldn't win anything at Spurs if they swapped places with Kane either. Spurs just arn't good enough.

That said, Kane has more than Ronaldo and Messi keeping him from best in the world. There are probably a dozen or more names ahead of his. Time may erase some of them as they retire, but as they retire other great players will come onto the scene, some of which will likely eclipse Kane.

Kane is a goal scoring player and Spurs are lucky to have him. I don't think trophies are an ideal metric as trophies are won by teams and not individuals... But Kane is never going to be considered the best in the world by anyone other than Spurs fans.

it puts him in the miroslav Klose bracket and frankly if he has as good a career as him he would be doing well

    DFB-Pokal: 2007–08, 2009–10
    DFB-Ligapokal: 2007
    DFB-Supercup: 2010

    Coppa Italia: 2012–13

    600 games 231 goals.

    Germany

neither would have signed new deals at spurs either.

    A dozen and the rest.

He's got a great record in the prem. He scores goals. yes spurs are lucky to have him and now on a very long deal.

We all know that contracts don't mean players stay at clubs if they want out, they are just financial insurance policies for the selling clubs, his rep/agent could be in secret talks selling him as I post this comment and Spurs can't do **** all about it.

If he truly wants to be the best he'll never achieve it at Spurs.

it has effectively locked him there.

I cannot see real pay 250mil to spurs for him.... not him. he's too slow.

Yeah, I see your point, but agreements can be made between agents and clubs whereby the player in question suddenly loses form(basically downs tools), the the price drops and the contract shortens and the player then holds all the aces.

Remember Bale left Spurs 4 months after signing a new 4 year deal.

So if a player stays at a club he has no ambition or not good enough... If he leaves and goes to Real or Barcelona he's a mercenary.

Players will be slated by a percentage of fans no matter what they do. <laugh>

He could go to one of the Spanish Giants, but he wouldnt be in first XI and I don't think he wants to bench warm.

In England... Could you see him replacing Aguero at City? One would expect Kun to be above him at City
United... Yeah he could go to United and you would expect then to win trophies if they get a good manager once Jose leaves.

Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool could all potentially win silverware. He's a better goalscorer than Firmino, but I don't think he'd got a Klopp formation as well. Chelsea and Arse he would probably be top striker.

Coutinho started sulking six months after signing a new five-year contract for us.

My take on this is that to be rated the worlds best you need to have something extra rather than just being excellent in your position. Pure goalscorers rarely have that the best example being the incredible Gerd Muller who never gets mentioned as a worlds best despite his phenomenal record.

The thing with Ronaldo and Messi is that they can do things with the ball that defy belief. They are both capable of playing in different positions comfortably, both are truly exceptional talents.

Harry Kane is a decent striker. I don't think he is in the top ten in the prem never mind the world.

Even the real Ronaldo was more than just a striker despite only ever playing as a striker

I think it's more about all round play, the real Ronaldo could run the length of the pitch at pace, best 4 players and slot the ball in the bottom corner for his first, then get on the end of a cross for his second. The truly great players are versatile, they are the complete package.

There’s also the excitement factor. Ronaldo, Messi are exciting to watch. Skipping past people, making them look silly. Same with Neymar and another who never gets mentioned but is put up there wth Messi and Ronaldo is Ronaldinho. That guy could run like bolt with the ball never moving more than 6 inches away from his foot!

lets be real, no one goes to a football game and gets excited watching harry Kane play. Brilliant goal scorer but that’s all he is. Not a bad thing, if he stays at Spurs he’ll beat shearers record I think and go down as a great goal scorer, but never in same league a season those mentioned above.
