I think 23000 fans were supporting their team, as were the over 3000 of us at Coventry, not supporting Bates shenanigans. Leeds is a football club not 1 man, would you not support your team just because you didnt like the centre forward?

Ben Parker was on stage at the Pavilion and told the the crowd, Howson doesnt want to go and Bates wants the money more then the player. Also read this http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/spor..._over_jonny_howson_and_leeds_united_1_4180086 nowhere does it say Howson wanted to leave. He wanted Premiership football and he wanted to keep his options open... If the club or Bates had shown ambition, if Grayson had been allowed to sign some quality, if we had been pushing for promotion then things would have been a lot different.

Grayson made some mistakes, he wasn't going to be a Revie or a Wilkinson but he was best man for the job under the current situation = Bates >> Lack Of Investment >> ****er

It doesnt say he wanted to leave, but it does say he would not sign a new contract. So I guess he wanted to stay and play for free.

You said Howson wanted to leave... He never, he wanted Leeds to show ambition, get promoted and he wanted Premiership football with Leeds. If he wasn't going to get that with leeds he wanted to KEEP HIS OPTIONS OPEN... Can you blame him? Why tie himself down to a club showing a lack of ambition, imagine if he had signed a 3 year contract, we sell Snodgrass in the summer and bring in more freebies and loans, he is a young player and he wants premiership football. If Bates doesn't then why should he stay.

Howson didnt necessarrilly want to leave. He wanted to stay with leeds and get into the prem, the fact of the matter is though he wouldn't sign a contract until he knew the situation 100% so selling him wasn't a bad idea however I still believe we coulda got him to stay. Howson was never going to be instrumental this second half of the season anyway because of his injury.

And Ristac I understand I'm in the minority

basically bates knew we werent gonna be in the premiership next season, and he knew Howson would leave because of that so he sold him!

If Bates had any sort of incline we would get promoted he wouldve risked keeping howson

Not a great argument!!! The centre forward can get benched, injured, loaned out or sold, the chairman stays in control as long as he wants. A few months ago I defended Bates and felt it only right to give him the chance to show this so-called ambition to get to the Prem, but come on, how pathetic has Bates been? Any CEO publicly calling complaining customers morons would be sacked. The problem we have is Bates knows our loyalty is to Leeds United and not him. Well, I spend around £2k a season on Leeds through membership, LUTV, programme subscription, club shop, match tickets and client hospitality. I have now stopped all of that. I willnot put another penny into the club while this leech is our chairman. He needs to be hit in the pocket, we need gates below 10k for him to get out of Dodge. Sponsors will not invest if the support is not there. I still feel 15k outside the ground during matches chanting Bates Out will send the clearest message. Leave the stands empty and let him know how we feel. He called us morons when a couple of hundred dared protest outside the ground, now that number has grown with over a thousand marching against Bates. The fans are the most important people at ANY club, the one constant, the people who remain long after the manager, players and chairman have gone. Bates should be working in the interests of the fans which means a team that can compete and entertain, and a strategy in place that we all know about and understand. Listen to him speak - it's HIS club and we should be thankful to have him. No Ken, it's OUR club, and you should be thankful Leeds have such loyal supporters. No **** off and let our club grow into a successful one again!

Well said. He's a horrible little man. Seen the latest interview transcript? Can tell he's rattled.
