Just seen that Soton Manager Mauricio Pochettino has been awarded the Barclay's Manager of the Month for October. Great news. Could the associated jinx give us the edge in what everyone sees as being a very tight match? Here's hoping.
Id love to see if there is any evidence of this supposed MotM jinx. Id suggest it's just cos everyone remembers it if they get beat and ignores it if they win.
Can't see it having any affect, to be honest. The news both Aluko & Brady are out (Brady precautionary at most) has me thinking this will be a massive task to get anything from this match. I still live in hope, but it'll be tough. I hope i'm wrong.
It's just because for a manager to win the award, they have to have done exceptionally well (i.e. better than usual) - so inevitably, they are often going to go back to their average/typical form after winning such an award.
