Anyone else just want all these big heads gone? I have had enough of rumours about our imminent demise. Sell them all. But a load of players who want to play here. The old guard of Cortese-ites and Pochetines can move on, and we can get our club back from the clutches of a media with a very pointed agenda.
I love stats me, as you know, but wasn't there a stat at the end of the season that Lovren had been one of the worst passers out of all premiership centre backs?
I don't really know what number is good for a CB, but didn't Koscielny get something stupid like 98%?
The biggest loss to Southampton is losing the manager. The big players wont be happy about that, knowing that a club who finished 1 place above them can steal their manager.
Was it losing possession then? I know someone somewhere said there was a surprisingly damning stat about him. Or I might have made it up. I hear voices, you know.
But he told my mate he was staying!!! In fairness, if a player does want to leave for another club that's shown interest, I'd far rather they were up front and honest and handed in a transfer request, than laid media paper trails out through their agent. If it's not true, I expect Dejan to put out a rebuttal fairly sharpish.
I swear I actually overheard this conversation at St Marys Dejan "Les, I want a transfer!" Les "Ok Dejan, stick this on your arm" Honestly, any stories about players who are involved in the WC making transfer requests now are at best reheated old news or just made up. No need for the big eff off just because of newspaper stories.
Well, Echo says their sources confirm it is true. If they have known all this time, at the Mail, then this must be a deliberate ploy to undermine all good news out of Southampton.
Well said Channon. Let's stop panicking for christs sake. Even if its true a new manager could change his mind.
http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/sa...ren_hands_in_Saints_transfer_request/?ref=mac http://www1.skysports.com/football/n...at-southampton This does make you wonder if there's something going on that's upsetting the players. Blackmore suggested the players are angry at the way they've been treated. I just wonder where the truth lies as it does seem strange that all of a sudden Adam, Luke & Dejan can't wait to leave ! It can't be just because calls are not being answered.
I don't understand why the players are doing this when the WC is mere days away. Fair enough to do it when you return to Southampton, face to face etc. I just find it harder to believe this one. Reputation took a hit in France, had a great first season with us, then wants to talk about his future with 3 years left on his contract and still no manager in place. If the board are really ignoring phone calls it doesn't send out a great message, but did Lovren really, honestly, think we would be anywhere near getting CL football this season or in the near future!?
I wish I could slip into a coma and wake up with a semi and to the smell of freshly ground coffee on the first day of the season.
And it seems a bit odd that another reassuring and positive statement comes from the board, and the next day there is a story to unsettle everyone again (Krueger Interview, Adam's not happy, Reed interview, Dejan's not happy). Maybe I'm just reading too much into it!
Nothing is upsetting them. They are simply using the Cortese/Pochettino departures as nice little cover story. It's the same reasons they want to leave and its not bloody rocket science.... 1) Their agents have been tapped up by a bigger club & who in return get in the ear of the player. Payday allround 2) A player wants to move to a bigger club. Funny enough, this has happened before in football. Really, it has. 3) Why do so many of you still believe all the ****ing guff that players come out with when they sign about being part of a journey or seeing out their ambitions? Foreign players in particular use mid table Prem clubs as stepping stones to Top 6 Prem clubs, always have, always will 4) Greed. They will get paid more money than they get at Saints. Now stop being so soft and wake up to the real world.
