They've made a lot of signings but there's not one of them I can look at and think "I wish he had of come here". Defoe and N'Zogbia would be another 2 similar signings.

Would be in dreamland if we could get those 2! But it's seeming all the more unlikely of acquiring N'Zogbia, let alone Defoe. <wah>

A couple seasons ago I'd want Defoe, but on the back of last year I'd pass, and he's not getting any younger either

    Agree with this.

O'Shea I'd take because he can play anywhere across the back 4 and Gardner would be good as back up but wouldn't get in our first team. But even those two I'm not bothered about.

As for the rest just another case of Sunderland going for quantity not quality. They seem to be hell bent on signing another eleven players who are no better than the starting eleven they have already got. Keep going agent bruce - waste their money without noticeably improving them.

Come on lads, we're obviously all jealous because there is nothing negative to be said about any of SAFC's potential signings...

Defoe didn't seem to get going this season, partly due to 'Arry preferring the Crouch + VDV pairing up front in my opinion. He got 18 last season, so i suppose it's how you want to look at it?

He can't play upfront on his own, in exactly the formation we're supposedly going to start playing

I thought the lone striker role with Ben Arfa behind is what we will play with, if we don't bring in more strikers? Surely Ba + Defoe would work well?

Well we aint getting him either way. We seem to be running out of big name targets which is worrying! :undecided: Hopefully, Carr can find us another gem; in the form of a striker this time!

Owen's winners medal from last season too then means he set the premier league alight does it?

Well, maybe we should buy him back lads!

I'm going for Ba up front by himself with Ben Arfa having the free role behind. Defoe would be a decent signing for us especially when Ba goes on African Nation cup duty. I would expect us to then have 2 upfront, possibly Ameobi and Defoe which could potentially be quite a good attack.
