East Broads area.
I'm so fed up listening to commentators and pundits talking about "Professionalism" when refering to incidents during matches.
Robbie Savage is a particular culprit; listening to him on 5live the other night talking about the Ashley Young dive as being Professional behaviour, just made me wonder what exactly are these people on about?
So, for their benifit and education, below is the definition of the word Professional;

A professional is a person who is paid to undertake a specialized set of tasks and to complete them for a fee.
The traditional professions were doctors, lawyers, clergymen and commissioned military officers.
Today, the term is applied to architects, accountants, educators, engineers, scientists, social workers and many more.
The term is also used in sports to differentiate amateur players from those who are paid—hence "professional footballer"
and "professional golfer".
In some cultures, the term is used as shorthand to describe a particular social stratum of well educated,
mostly salaried workers, who enjoy considerable work autonomy, a comfortable salary, and are commonly engaged
in creative and intellectually challenging work.
Less technically, it may also refer to a person having impressive competence in a particular activity.

Because of the personal and confidential nature of many professional services and thus the necessity to place a
great deal of trust in them, most professionals are subject to strict codes of conduct enshrining rigorous ethical
and moral obligations.

I don't see any reference to cheating, do you Robbie Savage, Alan Shearer etc etc?
That is all.

completely agree ILD - its like the term 'professional foul'. no - it should be called 'cynical foul'.

to be honest, i'm fed up with most of the pundits - i like lee dixon and i did rate gary neville very highly until last weekend when he ranted on about how diving wasn't cheating cos the best players do it <doh>

It confirms Savage is a t*sspot and has appalling use of language - professionalism my a*se as Jim Royle would have said.
Drogba has been nominated by the Royal Academy after Wednesday's shocker!! Utter disgrace.
