Apologies for the length of the article! Tried to cut some bits out but thought it was all relevant. <ok>

I'm a massive Busquets fan - I agree that he's underrated but that comes with the territory when you play for a team renowned for their attacking ability. However, his reading of the game and intelligence ensure he cuts out the danger effectively and efficiently. His passing and technique is remarkable - I think it was either Xavi or Iniesta who said that Busquets was possibly the best first time passer in the Barca team.

However, Busquets is built for a team who has majority of the possession and who press high up the pitch. I think the same applies to Lucas - in the right system, he is extremely good. The problem this season is that we aren't keeping possession that well therefore we're doing a lot of chasing than we should.

Now here is the problem - who in our midfield is the problems>? Is it Lucas because he's not protecting the defence? Is it Gerrard because he's immobile and not offering help to his partners? Or is it a combination of both?

M'Vila is currently our most realistic DM target in January - Sakho's best mate, looking to get out of Russia, follows 'young and talented' policy. And I agree MITO - we need a DM who can attack and defend - attacking doesn't mean being able to launch Xabi Alonso esque balls - just merely looking for the right pass, bypassing the opposition etc.
