Good analysis there. I think in the past one of the problems has been over thinking it instead of just getting out there and let the opposition worry about us and how to deal with us. Everything Klopp has said so far makes sense in terms of working harder and trusting themselves. We still don't have a settled 11 so there's scope for vast improvement once we have and the team feel they can rely on each other and themselves. Towards the end with Rodgers they were all playing with no confidence, there's still patches of that but the extra physical work and mental work that Klopp's bringing in, bodes well I think. If they're feeling better both physically and mentally then the effects will be noticeable on the pitch.
As MITO says, we have creative players who prefer movement ahead of them. Firmino and Coutinho look for the striker to make the runs. Benteke relies on runners to go beyond him. It's a conflict.
No we don't we've players who won't play the passes fast enough... I never said a word about movement. I only referred to two specific goals today involving runs behind. don't try putting words in my mouth thanks. firmino looks for the sloppiest lay off possible them puts it behind the players he tries to pass to giving it away then chases after it and appears to be pressing as he does so. One good pass so far
Origi or Beneteke upfront against Watford? Asuming he plays one of them of course. Still not sure why he's dropped the idea of Firmino upfront
Cos the lad got tired and also we had injuries to coutinho and suspensions too to Lucas and can so he needed all hands. I think it's a question of one up or two up and I don't see him playing 2 up yet. Not away. Origi won't start. I almost wish he would to see what Jimmy would say when we get turned over for all the reasons I've said. It won't be origis fault as I've already said the whole team isn't giving enough.
Defense from the front. The press starts up front in the right zones and then the ams must do more closing down and the midfield needs to be far more aggressive.
The striker can only do so much and if you read Klopp's comments they have a specific closing role and frankly that doesn't mean hailing about all over the place. Klopp has a very deliberate plan for each role.
Never expected a forward to run around like a headless chicken. But neither Benteke or Origi lead the pressing. Firmino does.
