Perhaps you should all have a word with Kloppo since he seems happy with his team selections :emoticon-0100-smile

'Hi Kloppo, I'm afraid you have to take over a team after the season started, not have a year in charge and don't have the luxury of £300m to spend like your Dutch counterpart.

In light of the above, please can you not play certain players, and if possible, select better players which haven't signed for us'.

I'll get on the phone to him right now.

But I thought you would prefer Origi/Firmino over Benteke, Ibe over Milner. Surely these players have signed for you?

    Origi is 19.

    Firmino isn't a striker.

Ibe is an attacking midfielder and Milner is playing deeper.

Oh - and we've had to rotate our squad because of the competitions we're in

    Anymore questions?

Honestly thought the two-footed lunge by Skrtel was worse (even though the WBA player managed to get out of the way) and it's hard to argue Gardner should have had a red without saying the same for that. Hard to say sometimes, had a disagreement with a friend over the Perez challenge in the Newcastle-Tottenham game as I thought that was a harsh booking (I'd want my players to be going for the ball there) and he thought it could have been a red, we all see what we want to I guess.

The Perez one is a classic example of a ref never having played the game and the defender making a huge meal of it. It was a 50/50 5 yards out of goal, the forward had to slide in for it and defender got their a split second earlier. Yes he caught him, but it wasn't a yellow card.. and Vertonghen rolling around in pain (before looking the free kick was given and getting up) was pathetic.

The Skrtel one was lucky, if the player hadn't avoided him it was a definite red card, and it probably should have been a booking. Was a pathetic challenge and no idea why players dive in like that knowing even if they win the ball, they're getting sent off these days.

The Gardner one is tricky. Go back 10-15 years and you say nothing wrong with it, player goes in wins the ball and just catches him with his follow through where his momentum has taken him into Lovren (although could say why does he lift his foot up after winning the ball?). These days though, we hear so often how if you go in with excessive force and your momentum means you have contact with the player it's a foul... and the fact his momentum took him into Lovren's knee, you could understand if a red was given.

But you're right - I don't agree with some of Klopp's selections but he's only been at the club for 2 months. He's not had the 'pleasure' of seeing these players as long as we have.

Same as us watching you implode down the road I suppose. .. well actually it's kind of worse for you isn't it. You manager actually thinks losing in comps is improvement. I'm glad lfc gives you something to watch then cos Utd sure are not.

  13. Both were very poor. Big difference is one made contact and the other didn't. Of course, the rule book talks about intent, not contact.

I used to be a keeper and to be fair to ming, when a cross is inches from your ability ot reach it, it's impossible to tell until you go for it, it was a great ball sent in.

In that area Ming has to go for it too. Think you are being too harsh on Ming there. Besides no one will be more pissed at Ming than Ming imo. I know myself, no keeper likes coming for a cross and not getting it, but if it looks like you can get it and it's in your zone, you have to go for it.

It always looks fail when you don't reach the cross but it's not as simple as that

Klopp has certainly got his work cut out with this lot. Inability to defend set pieces can and will be worked on, poor goalkeeping decisions have been a feature all along with Mignolet - I don't have confidence in him so how does the defensive line in front of him have confidence. I agree it is a two way thing as Bisc says but I don't see any difference in Mignolet no matter who's in front of him. Better goalkeeping coaching??

I am confident however that Klopp can fix it.

[I'm still loving his pre and post match interviews btw.]

Well Skrtel has been a regular fixture in front of Ming and Reina.... Can't do much to inspire you as a goal keeper, especially when he starts scoring past you 7 times!

Think people are harsh on Mig, he's not made that many errors.

de gea got beaten by a corner, lloris let one in under his body yesterday... Harts had a few errors this year and Cech had a dodgy start to the year

Would he get into any of the sides you're aspiring to beat into the top 4?

    Chelsea? Nope

    Arsenal? Nope

    United? Nope

    City? Nope

    Spurs? Nope

He's a decent keeper but not top level.

Pretty much this. As with a lot of our squad, we have good players who are short of Top 4 quality.

The keeper position is also our weakest spot.

A good keeper can make the difference between coming close and actually achieving something.

When he's gone we will improve at the back
