Our defence was awful last year and there has been no improvement with the additions. Our captain is also a joke. 17 conceded this season joint worst.

When will we learn you need a solid defence to have a chance in any league?

Just made a post in the match day thread discussing the defence and onouha. Ned clearly not captain material and needs to be lead himself in order to get the best out of him, obvious to see. And in my opinion , should have kept dunne at the club.

You could have the best defenders in the world but without proper organisation and a cohesive unit working together you will still ship goals at an alarming rate. This is down to poor management and training, probably mostly down to an inexperience coach/manager.

Absolutely spot on. We could have Man City's defence and still ship goals with the lack of protection in front of them. That's why Chery was taken off.

I think we need to have a serious talk about Nedum. He's a very limited player and when he has a bad night it really shows.

How many times has Ned been linked with a move? must be something in that....

Letting Dunne go was Ramseys first and biggest mistake, he's tried to stamp his personality on the team. It appears his personality involves a degree of humiliation.

Im no football expert but even I was one of the many on here complining about not sorting our back line out during the window. its so f-ing frustrateing. Wtf?

In Warnock's promotion side: we had Kenny, Orr, Gorkks, Connolly and Hill. Individually, none of these were awe-inspiring, although Kenny had the best season of his career and Hill can be cut some slack trying to be a LB at that stage of his career. Nevertheless, as a unit, they were superb.

Contrast that with our present back 5. You would have said at the start of the season that, on paper, the current defence are much better individual players. However, as a unit, they are shocking. We've conceded 17 goals in just 9 games. No team in the division is worse than that; it is only matched by two teams in the relegation places - which is where we will be unless something miraculous happens soon.

The difference must be in the quality of the coaching, tactics and motivation. Stand up and take a bow Mr Ramsey.

Ned can't read the game, All the fitness and strength in the world can't make you stand in the right place at the right time. He also can't pass to save his life, Green has clearly been told not to pass to Ned. Played it out through Angella all night who had to make up the gap to midfield before making a pass, complete joke when he's knackered doing half of the captains work for him.

Free agent I think, doubt he'll return under Ramsey.

We should have scouted for better defenders and built the team from there.
