just plonking poparts in front of me may be humerous bur merely confim there is a jinx on town and has been ever since the popart replaced the 3 loggerheads and a floreat salopia. if we cannot see that then after 4 years we are deluding ourselves. it may take several years of pestering, it will not happen in my lifetime, but shrewsbury town will never win anything with that ruddy awful popart badge. i ask you how much more proof do you want. there is a voo doo on the shrews and it is not the fault of the players or fine manager.

I believe that historically the club has developed a new logo when success has been achieved such as getting promoted. Unfortunately if we have a 'ruddy badge' that will never let us win anything then we are stuck in a catch 22 situation. So let's hope that the club's opportunity for promotion will result in a new badge being created with some historical link attached to it.
 
matster i implore you to believe that i have been totally consistent in my view over 4 long years, i know whatshrew disagrees, but there have been 4 near misses over the last 4 years and a jinx is on the town.
nothing would give me so much pleasure to see the shrews get promoted, but history i fear is pointing my way. we ignore the borough's history at our peril. 3 loggerheads and a floreat salopia rowland or else. history is on my side. floreat salopia, and where is what shrew when he is wanted!
 
Interesting article in the latest When Saturday Comes about copywriting club logos to safeguard the rights to club merchandise. It is evident that we could never do that with the Loggerheads but the alternative which we are landed with beggars belief, really.
 
Someone pointed out recently that we haven't won (bar promotion from the conference) anything since Roland took over as chairman. If you're after a jinx AJ then perhaps that's it? I personally think he's doing a fair job, and although we would all like a bit more money spent on players I think we don't know the full ins and outs of previous managers spending.

Erm, that's it I think, apart from all those family club of the year, best pitch in League 2 etc awards ...
 
i do not blame rowland really, but he and his board have the means to put things right. yes new stadium new badge etc must have seen tempting for the board, but there lies the problem, ignoring towns heritage and borough coat of arms is the cause of the problem. until the pop art idol is dumped town will go on very nearly achieving but not quite going that little further. it is frustrating for the fans, but now that rowland graham and the squad are in a way pissing against the wind. perhaps rowland and his board will restore the status quo, that will insure the shrews rapid departure from L2 and race up L1, who knows town may even have a long cup run. everything is in place= fantastic stadium, brilliant manager, super squad and a chairman and board who need a liitle/ great shove. come on rowland, 3 loggerheads and a hearty floreat salopia . the board are running a great business but there is one thing missing. rowland change that ruddy awful badge!
 
shrewd the point i am making is what have we won in the last 4 years, i am being perfectly serious when i say the shrews will never win anything with that ruddy awful badge. rowland put that decanter down and smell the coffee!
 
and visiting directors get a choice of camp coffee or lithuanian sparkling port. our rowland ever the businessman
 
I think it's missing the point to say we haven't won anything It's us who need to smell the coffee thinking that give it 10 year under GT or any other manager (he's obviously the best we've had) and the trophy cabinet'll be bulging. Our aim at Planet Greenhous is promotion, title, second or third place or avenging our play-off misery so be it. The target is League One, and hang in there for a bit whilst enjoying some cracking games against the Sheffield clubs/Charlton and Preston. What are we supposed to win? Apart from maybe the League Two title and a wild shot at the JPT (which everyone slags off anyway) what we can we realistically win? Not negative but i'm more targeting the opportunity to be one of a hardy 300 or so Salopians or tour gawping at Hillsborough or Bramall lane. Savvy?

the last 4 years have proved my point, i hope in 5 years time i am still not proving my point. sometimes i wonder if rw or gt read this load of old tosh whilst relaxing with a vintage port or a tankard of irn bru. floreat salopia and ctrapab
 
moving stadia was the making of the club. from losing 300,000 a year and gates of 2500, roland and his directors had the forsight to build the new meadow and our gates have doubled. what is not known is the club, now making a healthy but small profit. when the banks come looking for overdraughts to be paid up, they should keep away from the greenhous stadium as the club own this and other assetts

now we would not have been able to build the new stadium without selling our old ground for housing, but at present roland and the board are to be congratuled, along with an excellent manager for putting our mighty football club on the map again.

i have only i nagging doubt in my mind, i just hope the same developers at the old gay meadow or elsewhere are not responsible for the closure of an excellent wakeman school. turning this into flats will make somebody a few hundred thousand pounds
 
and it should be known, the shrews silverware cabinet is full of vintage port bottles, empty irn bru cans, rolands regalia and rolands badge of office his 1951 cycling proficiency test badge. it is high time the cabinet was cleared out to makeway for some genuine silverware, er to come. floreat salopia, 3 loggerheads etc
 
Victor Kasule's RAC badge and Luke Rodgers' gold tooth have taken up too much space in the trophy cabinet for too long, time for something fresh!!
